Tweeted something political, BBC suspended him.

Just run a google search, there's a full rundown out there somewhere.

Tweeted a new proposed immigration bill as Nazi-esque. Typical liberal hyperbolic crap. BBC suspended him.

Thank you for responses. I don’t do twitter but was curious. Wouldn’t he tweet his opinion all the time. And this just touched a nerve. Or is this the first time he tweeted his opinion?

Isn’t twitter just like your having a conversation with whoever is on twitter with you.

Isn’t twitter like a smaller version of the O-T

The BBC is a news organization and wants to be seen as impartial. Gary made a political statement and he works for them. They didn't want it to seem like it was their stance as well. Not saying whether or not I agree with the suspension but that is, I think, why he was suspended.

Which would be fine except they only enforce this when they don’t like the opinion being expressed.

I mean, they prolly do agree with his statement. The BBC is pretty liberal. Gary is extremely liberal.

Like posted above, smart move for these companies is to not have personal bias seep through. You alienate huge sections of customers doing that.

Thank you for all the explanation. Thank you for the two downvotes. My wife rejoices that people agree how bad my joking is.

If you are on the BBC you can't talk
politics ---its funded by the Gov't and you can't do it.
Not saying its right or wrong but that is what you sign up for if you want to be on the screen.

Projecting the American political paradigm and its relationship with media onto other countries isn’t a good idea.

Except it’s selectively enforced.

When your opinion is supported by government policy you can say what you want. Criticize the government and suddenly it’s an impartiality issue. That’s the problem here.

No it’s not, also the same with Sky and Channel 4

It’s not like American networks

They just report the news without a political spin

If something has a political leaning in its report, it is clearly labeled opinion

Unlike CNN, Fox and MSNBC to claim it to be facts
