NEWS STORY: Fox & USGA divorce after five years of 12-year, $1.2B deal as USGA heads to NBC Sports, The Post has learned.

At this point, I would not be surprised to see Fox extricate itself from its World Cups through 2026. (Keep in mind, the federal government is alleging that Fox got the US World Cup rights illegally, which those accused have denied.)

Please sweet baby Jesus give me back Sir Ian, Michael Ballack, and unretire Bob Ley for one last run.

We'll even take Alexi back, as long as you leave that Fernando guy the Hell away from the deal.

Pretty sure they also just fired their soccer production head, or something like that.

I’d say it would be nice, but I’m not confident we’ll qualify for me to tune in regardless.

ESPN is the only American network that has proved to be competent doing these big tournaments

ESPN getting it back would be the dream, but NBC/Comcast definitely has the infrastructure already in place to put together a good product.

Would be interesting if NBC would push those side networks to drop mid week programming for games

They are so invested in EPL they probably can’t afford to do the WC or Euros

ESPN needs to do both, and the championship league. Like it’s 2008 all over again.

I saw on Twitter someone pointing out that whoever gets the 2026 World Cup is going to be making money like crazy, considering that it's in the US and, like with every World Cup, you don't pay for certain production costs like cameras technical producers, just for rights to the feed.
