Definitely

I think we also match up well with each other so it should make for some entertaining ties

If Liverpool would win the CL playing Roma then RM, SCH would be like “Big deal, you beat the 4th place team in Serie A and La Liga”. “6 CL trophies is child’s play.....rabble rabble rabble”.

Amirite?

Either that or something about it not counting because not enough people were there to witness it.

Gonna be rough for SCH when City win the league and Pool win the CL.

I don't see them beating Bayern or Madrid in a final

but anything can happen in a one off

You have a point. But Liverpool just beat City 5-1 over two legs with a midfield rotation of Henderson, Milner, Gini Wijnaldum, & Oxlade-Chamberlain vs City’s rotation of Fernandinho, Silva, De Bruyne & Gundogan. That City midfield is the best in the world for me and should have been a mismatch but both legs the Liverpool midfield held their own and let that ridiculous front three do it’s thing.

One more thing that can’t be overlooked is the managerial matchup. I haven’t seen Roma enough to give an opinion on Di Francesco but I have watched a ton of Liverpool matches and Klopp is really an incredible manager. He seems to get the best out of his teams in these spots too. Tournament soccer seems to suit his style.

Should be fun. Way more pumped on this matchup than Bayern/Real.

So how does this work, with CL spots and Europa spot to CL?

If Atletico win Europa, they basically screw Europa out of CL spot, since they are in already?

Also, if Liverpool would win, they still take one of 4 English spots, or does it go to 5th team?

I know they changed some shite for champions and for europa champ to get in and wasnt sure how they did it for champs already in with spot

I think you could rightly call Liverpool the favorite but slight enough favorite that I wouldn't argue with anyone calling the match-up a complete toss up either.

What I mentioned about midfield isn't really about better or worse but that Roma's is quite different in that you don't have lighter weight #10 type playmakers like City but all three guys in De Rossi, Strootman and Nainggolan that are tough physical players.

Roma isn't comfortable playing the way Man United does but, win or lose, they won't be nearly as naively "open" as City.

Di Francesco is a young manager and the book is definitely still open on him but he's looked like a genius in some of the biggest matches recently like Barcelona and recent Napoli away fixture.

It really comes down to a similar dynamic as Roma/ Barcelona:
Whether Roma can press effectively to make it a midfield battle where they'll win most one-on-one battles and turn those into chances or whether Liverpool can turn it into a track meet down the wings with Roma on the back foot.

My guess is it'll be half and half and the winner will simply be who finishes an extra chance or two or which goalkeeper makes a couple of extra great saves.
