They’re being completely outclassed. Ecuador wasn’t scoring goals in their lead up games, but they’re having no issue slicing up and pressuring Qatar

The ruling is second to last defender. No mention of a goal keeper.
So the gk is the second to last defender in some situations but 99% of the time he is the last defender.
If he’s not it’s usually on set pieces and your goal keeper fricked up because he came out and didn’t get the ball.
