Hate to see it but I don't know if I could be pissed off at Jurgen if I don't know everything that's going on in camp. Isn't the deadline to turn in your roster on the 28th? I figure he would've waited longer.

That's pretty apparent. There's no doubt that the man can whip in a beautiful cross, but he's extremely slow and wont' get anywhere near a position to do so against the likes of Ghana, Portugal, and Germany.

Yep.

And I find comfort in the fact that Bradley and Howard agree with me.

quote:

Last year, Michael Bradley said plainly, 'If we're going to play more than three games in Brazil, we need Landon.'

This week at Stanford, goalkeeper Tim Howard said, 'For me, it's a very easy equation. If Landon is on the field, he's our top one or two players ... he strikes fear in our opponents.'

What a little shite.

Klinsmann and his family are officially my least favorite Germans ever and they have some pretty stiff competition.

Meh, google his account and read the hate that was being sent to him in regards to his father before that.

He is just a kid watching and reading grown arse men blast his father in pretty nasty ways.

Everyone needs to take a fricking breath and step away for a while. Tweeting some of that shite to a 14 year old because you don't like his father's choices for the world cup roster? Thats shameful and embarrassing.

This. He's a fricking child.

When Jurgen leaves and we go back to mediocrity, people will wonder why we suck. One man tries to up the ante, and everyone loses their fricking minds.

Jurgen's biggest contribution has been recruiting some German-Americans we wouldn't have otherwise gotten. I don't doubt that Bradley or Kreis or whoever could have landed Fab and Boyd, but I have my doubts on Brooks, Green, and who knows with Chandler.

We just had one of the best WC qualifying runs in US soccer history.

Eh.

I personally think this current team would wipe the floor with the 2010 version, and I don't think this team would have needed last second heroics from anyone to get out of that group.

What?

I understand most of your sentiments, and we just disagree on a lot of it regarding today's news, but what the frick is this shite?

Jurgen may make us a little better, but we do not become American Somoa when his time is up. The US will probably continue to improve a marginal pace (excluding our current bump).

The team's basically done the same in qualifying for years.

I am perfectly happy with how Klinsmann did his job until today. Don't get me wrong. he was doing a very solid job, but it wasn't anything truly out of the ordinary.

2014: 22 points in the Hex, 13 in the 3rd Round

2010: 20 in the Hex, 15 in the 3rd Round

2006: 22 in the Hex, 12 in the 3rd Round

I for one, will not stand for winning at least as many games and scoring more goals in qualifying like we did in 2006 and 2010.

I WILL NOT STAND FOR THAT LEVEL OF MEDIOCRITY.

With attitudes like that, we'll never win a WC group or a knockout game.

THANK GOD FOR JURGEN!

Sheep, how upset are you that we have five players with WC experience? I know we only six in 2010, but man that number seems alarmingly low.

Players with WC Experience:

1998 - 8
2002 - 11
2006 - 10
2010 - 6
2014 - 5

To some extent, I don't know how big of a deal it is.

Our GK has been there, our best player has been there, the two guys we expect to score goals (Dempsey and Jozy) have been there.

Where it concerns me is if we have a red card or go down a goal early (especially to Ghana). After the early goals to both England and Ghana, and needing a goal against Algeria - I always felt the group on the field knew how to respond. Carlos, Dempsey, Donovan, Howard, Cherundolo - all would know how to focus the team and respond.

I have no idea how Timmy Chandler or Ale Bedoya or Omar Gonzalez will respond in those situations.
