Who would've thought that of the two, Beasley would play in more World Cups.

It's unbelievable how just this morning everyone was in Jurgen's corner and now we're all against him. I guess that just speaks to how valued Donovan is to U.S. fans.

Sorry Klinsi, you fricked up.

One player is obviously more important than the team for some of these guys.

I'm not rooting for the team to lose at all but I'm really upset about the lack of Landon Donovan. If we had a viable replacement, I'd be more ok with it. But we're leaving off the best player in our nation's history for Brad fricking Davis...

Brad... fricking... Davis

Such an ignorant assessment.

As I've said, Klinsmann will have to answer for that one. And I'm sure it won't be a good enough reason, no matter what he says.

I am, however, enjoying the vibe this ballsy move has made in American soccer fandom.

I honestly thought Davis could make it in, not at the expense of Donovan, even though I'm not sure that is exactly the case.

I also don't get leaving Goodson off the team and bringing Yedlin, even if they play different positions. I guess Cameron will be playing defense...

If you are saying that you hope the team will fail without LD or that Klinsmann should be fired before the WC for this, then that is a completely fair assessment to make.

This is not addressed to everyone who doesn't like the move, because I'm not sold on Davis > out of shape Donovan.

Absolutely agreed.

Oh wait, you aren't talking about Jurgen.

Those are some good words to live by.

Klinsmann was bailed out (justifiably) after the awful draw. Anything that happened would have been fine with me. We were truly fricked over.

He just withdrew his get out of jail free card.

Eh, a lot of us have been consistent. I have bitched about Klinsmann before and consistently said that his treatment of Donovan bothers me greatly.

Hendo has pretty much always shite on JK.

I love his recruiting. I think we have made good strides overall, but he is far from some savior and never has been.

JK has no room for a shitty offensive performance this summer. he's completely eradicated any rope

Klinsmann's M.O. is having a super fit team. Ok, you want to have a fit team, you want to outwork other teams, you want to run all game? You better be able to counter attack. Who does that well?

I'm down with it. LD doesn't know if he likes soccer anymore, shows up fat. Let players that bust their arse make the trip to Brazil. This is a sign that the US is becoming a better team. Other countries always make tough decisions like this.

It's a novel and positive thought. But other countries have to make a decision like leaving out an aging star for a young talent who is proven in Europe. We just left out the best player in US history for Deandre Yedlin.

It's not a big deal really in the grand scheme I don't think it affects the end result very much but it's still pretty hard to justify.
