Does Tim Howard give us the same production of the last WC

Our midfield was pretty damn good in 2010, but Howard was a freaking rock star. Do we get that same Howard 4 years later?

No, but he still damn good. He had an amazing year at Everton this year

No way to know, but I have complete faith in Howard. He should be quality.

Also if we can just keep a defensive shape all game versus Portugal I can see us coming away with the 3 points.

No doubt he is our best option, I just am hoping that he comes out on that stage like he did in 2010. I mean just the England game alone was just unbelievably impressive goalkeeping.

Howard will be fine, it's our defenders that I'm worried about.

I am worried like you, but only on fast breaks. If JK can make them keep their shape on defense it should be good.

I would not trust Omar Gonzeles to mark anyone who moves.

Except for his tendency to completely give up the near post when his defenders have the far post covered and it's much more difficult for a striker to swing his foot all the way around while running full speed on goal, a la Sergio Aguero in the Man City/Everton game or Gyan for the game winner that knocked us out of the cup in 2010, yea Howard is amazing and we'll need him to win us some points

Are you just talking out your arse? Those statements are contradictory.
Expect Howard to do Howard things. That means playing well. He's a solid keeper and I think we can expect a solid performance from him. He's coming off of his best season with Everton, stats wise, in the past five years, from what I've seen. I have faith in him.

I expect Howard to be great, but I may not be able to watch when Cristiano Ronaldo lines up for a free kick.

I kinda wonder if Howard retires from the international game after this cup. He's had a nice career but with him signing with Everton till 2018 may want to focus more on his club career. I could possibly seeing him sticking around for the next world cup campaign but maybe in a backup role. Guzan is 29 I believe so he should still be pretty solid in 2018 and 2022.

Judging by the last couple of seasons, Ronaldo's probably just going to hit the wall

He has all of my trust, he balled out for Everton this year. Also, Timmy is one of the fittest and most nutritious guys on the team, he's in prime shape. I think he will cover himself in glory in Brazil.

You can say that again.

Good strikers go to the near post. It is the unexpected shot. Van Persie has made a living from that move.

I guess I forgot that he was great in the 10 Cup. He didn't look great in that highlight reel of all the goals from that year.

If for some reason Howard can't go in any game, I have 100% confidence in Guzan.
