THIS is how it's done, Mexico.

I'm kinda to the point where I want Mexico to be good, relatively speaking, again.

It does us no good if we're punching down on them for the forseeable future.

As things stand right now, we're going out because of an incredible individual mistake. Mexico went out, in a shitty group they were favored to win, because they played like they have been playing for the better part of 3 years now.

Oh don't get me wrong, I was enjoying the hell out of that penalty getting overturned.

This is definitely the least talented Mexico has been in my lifetime. They are even worse at forward than we are.

Santiago Gimenez works harder defending than he does to get open when Mexico actually has possession. Seems like he mostly walks around and complains. He wouldn’t sniff the 23-man squad on a lot of the Mexico teams we’ve played in the past. Same for guys like Charley Rodriguez and Uriel Antuna.

I can’t laugh at them too much, given our situation. If tomorrow is Gregg’s last game, hopefully US Soccer surprises us all and makes a good hire, but I’m not getting my hopes up. I hate being so cynical, but that’s the attitude the USSF has warranted.

I think it would absolutely be a mistake to hire Marsh, but him getting out of a tougher group should highlight Gregg’s failures.

Peru and Chile are trash right now, and Canada played 90 minutes against them up a man, and Chile didn’t even have their coach on the sidelines. They managed a whopping 5 shots up a man for 90/180 minutes. They scored one goal across 3 games. Canada have not been good, and them getting out of their group is more thanks to the incompetence of the other teams than anything Marsch is doing.

Looking forward to this Brazil Columbia game.

I don’t think Columbia will rest players.

If they win they get Panama.
If they lose they get Uruguay

Will Brazil advance?

With a lose and a Costa Rica win. It comes down to goal difference.

I think Brazil would have to lose by a lot and CR win by a lot to overcome the GD. Brazil are +6 on GD right now.

Colombia is on a good run, but if Brasil brings their A game Colombia can’t compete.

Problem is, Brasil has been underperforming since their World Cup heartbreaker

Yeah right, this isn’t the Brazil we grew up watching. Colombia is the better team and them at +350 and +.5 is a GIFT.

That's a hell of an if

The caliber of that A game has also dipped considerably

We shall see later tonight. Gift seems like a hyperbolic statement.

Brasil may be playing poorly, but the talent level between the two squads isn’t equal.

What the hell is the point of the yellow card icon on the scoreboard? Brazil has a yellow card. Cool thanks
