Griezmann loves the kid, and has praised him in interviews non-stop since getting to Orlando. Having Griezmann as a mentor, a role he has fully embraced in MLS so far, will help the kid tremendously. Pasalic is back healthy and Ojeda should be back soon, so Ellis will be surrounded by 3 other really good attacking players which should allow him to thrive in MLS. I would expect a Freeman type situation and he moves next December to a club in Europe if he develops like he has been.

He got some playing time at the very end of his 17 year old season. We won’t have a comparison with Mathis until the end of this year. Cavan is a tougher comparison because they are much different players and play in different leagues.

I could absolutely see this. Keep in mind though that next season has a sprint season in the spring followed by the calendar switch to August-May.

Oklahoma’s own Rokas Pukstas is moving to Middle(America’s)brough to join Ohio’s contingent of Morris, Berhalter, and Arfsten.

He’s the youngest player to reach 10+ assists in an MLS season and has a goal contribution in 7 games straight. Enjoy it now because at this rate there is no way he stays in MLS past this season. Expect a call up for the next USMNT camp.

He is playing at an other worldly level right now. It’s crazy what we are watching him do at 16.

It’s insane. He very well might be the best 16 year old on earth. I’ve seen people online (idiots) saying he has no chance at City. Brother, I think he could come off the bench for them right now in his current form. He is such a complete player. Passing, finishing, off the ball movement, reading of the game, work ethic, technique, etc. It’s all elite.

Attitude as well. Kid is aggressive and not afraid, even playing against grown men. He is the polar opposite of Pulisic in that regard.
The next generation continues to ball out across the globe.

Look, I’m not saying he has no chance at City. Never say never. But come on… Nobody truly thinks he could step into that squad and not face a rapid reckoning and adjustment period.
That is a squad with some of the best players in the world that money can buy… Cavan is still VERY young and has yet to face even a near-representation of what he’d see in the Prem.
He’s VERY promising, but to think that he is capable of even making the squad for a match on that City squad right now is a massive stretch.
(Notwithstanding a customary squad bench selection to give him the atmosphere experience of a Euro match.)

I don’t think Pulisic plays scared. I think he gets unfairly judged for being an introvert. Not everyone is a Dempsey. Cavan is though, both in personality and his “try shite” gene.

I feel like we keep saying this in the months/year after a World Cup.
We're incrementally getting better from a player proliferation standpoint in Europe, but I'm kinda to the point where I won't get excited about the USMNT until we have a player in a starring role on a Champions League contender.
I guess the closest we came to that was Pulisic big dicking Real Madrid in the semis, but even then, he came on late in the final.

Arsenal has a 16 year old that scored today and is getting consistent minutes. It’s not unheard of albeit very rare.
