Does this qualify as a legendary beat down in a historical context for teams that have gotten this far in the World Cup?

There's nothing American that has happened or could happen that would come close to Brazil being dismantled so badly at home in the World Cup.

Yes. Brazil has never been down 4-0.... ever in the WC. Now they are hosting and getting arse pounded. It's pretty historical. This is probably what Poland felt like in 1939.
