Bild reporting that Christian Pulisic has agreed to personal terms with Chelsea

The Bild report is in German and behind a paywall, but it's summed up here LINK /
quote:
According to a new report by German publication Bild, Christian Pulisic has agreed to personal terms with Chelsea and is close to a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The report states that the clubs are nearing an agreement in the vicinity of $57 million, and that Borussia Dortmund is motivated to complete the deal as long as they’re not undercut with a lower than expected bid. It seems like the fee has not been fully agreed upon, but sounds relatively close.

I wish he would go to Spain instead of England.

Yeah, same. Would've been cool if he ended up at Villarreal or Sevilla or something.
Willian and Pedro are both 30+ now. Eden is probably going to leave. I think Pulisic will get a chance. I normally hate buying young players like this, but I feel like it makes more sense than many of our dealings.

It’s a good situation for his playing time with Willian and Pedro being old and Hazard out the door. I also don’t think Chelsea are good with managing young players. That said, I would have preferred him at Liverpool or arsenal. But if he can become the next Hazard there then I would be happy with the outcome.

I feel better about it with Sarri than most other people. Not fully confident, but this is probably the best chance a young player will have to break into the Chelsea team in a while.

Eh, selfishly it'll be way easier to watch him play in England than Spain

i had also seen reports this would be a player plus cash deal with Dortmund getting one of Chelsea's disgruntled youth academy grads in return.

Can you tell me about why Sarri will be good for his development?
I know Chelsea fans like Hudson-Odoi so it would be funny if he ended up going the other way.
Also, Chelsea has some clause where they can buy back Thorgan Hazard apparently and BvB are interested.

Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi is the latest English youngster to be targeted by the Bundesliga’s elite. Sportsmail understands Bayern Munich are set to table a starting offer of £13million for the 18-year-old when the January transfer window opens. But Bayern are not the only German club monitoring Hudson-Odoi, with Borussia Dortmund credited with an interest, was well as other Bundesliga sides

Liverpool to beat Arsenal to Borussia Dortmund playmaker Christian Pulisic as north London side fall short with £35million bid
quote:
According to the Sun, Liverpool have made an opening bid of £45million for the USA international, who has had a hand in seven goals across 18 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund this season. Arsenal had looked to rival the Merseyside club for the 20-year-old, but their bid of £35m has been dwarfed as the league leaders look to complete the deal swiftly. Klopp is low on back-up options should any of his front three — Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane — pick up injuries, and the need for an extra option has seen them waste no time in trying to match the Bundesliga club's value. It is thought that a bid of around £50m would be enough to secure the deal. Pulisic, who is also being tracked by Bayern Munich, has been capped 23 times by the United States.

The second hand smoke from Sarris sideline darts is reason enough to not want CP at Chelsea.

Why?
Sane/Sterling have worked out great for City. Martial for United as well.
And Pulisic has much more 1st team experience than both Martial/Sane had. Sterling was well established, but I see this as a great move for Chelsea if true.

Sarri's wingers are crucial in his sides, especially ones that can do work with the ball at their feet. Insigne/Callejon are two examples of that at Napoli.

Could see this working out for both sides if this happens. It could be a multi-year loan like they did with Hakimi or a sale with a first refusal for Chelsea, like what Dortmund did with City and Sancho.
I haven't really wanted Pulisic to move because of his situation at Dortmund, but I personally think a move is in his best interest at this point because of the emergence of Sancho and the fact that he's somewhat stagnated there over the last two years. A change of scenery at this point in his career, especially an improvement in competition, will show us what he's really made of.
