Also finished 2nd in voting for the new Kopa award (best U21 player) behind Mbappe.

Wow. My adult son is now on my favorite team.

Your adult son just became the 41st Chelsea player to be loaned out this season.
He is now lost in the abyss, the loanees don’t even train with the first team over summer as they know they are going out again.
He’s just a statistic now.

Good news: less Man City every friggin week on NBCSN next season.
Bad news: more Chelsea every friggin week

Yeah it’s silly to say he’s not that good however I totally understand people being a little bit shocked at the price
I’m worried Chelsea gonna do Chelsea things and fire Sarri at some point over the next 18 months (then repeat the same process with another manager) and the lack of stability under a solid manager could hurt his development

Are you really this clueless? He was never going to be a Chelsea player in January. The only reason he was bought now and loaned out is to get around this potential transfer ban. Dortmund were always set on keeping him until the summer.

I know
Just making sure you all remember, once you go into a loan pool you don’t come out..harder to leave than tGOATship

Upvote for Leeds-esque transfer shenanigans.

They don't suck. They have 3 of the best clubs in the world and won a world cup 8 years ago. They would probably be great for his continued development from a technical standpoint, but the league is still soft defensively and the competition isn't as consistent as it is in England. From a selfish USA perspective, I want him to be a more well rounded midfielder because his development in Spin won't really yield great results with the players he would have around him on the USMNT.
That said, I think going to Chelsea is probably even worse for him unfortunately.

Transfer embargo means it'll be a Mount/Pulisic pain train next season.

There is a whole lot of salt in here for some reason

I think it's a combination of legitimate concerns Chelsea could ruin him and the fact he moved to Chelsea and not people's favorite teams. I'm skeptical, but cautiously optimistic considering the age of our wingers and Hazard likely leaving.

We’ll see if he can pip Izzy BrGOATn

O you mean a few certain posters saying Liverpool were the front runners for the last year for this mythical reunion with Klopp a manager he never played for and their time at BVB barely crossed paths.
Funny Klopp said they were not in for him though

Pretending you weren't in for a transfer is a timeless tradition. I remember when our fans tried to act like the club didn't want Lukaku when incompetence was why we didn't get him.
(Not that I'm super sad we didn't buy him)
