Gago would be an interesting signing indeed. Of all the DM candidates I've seen I am most in favor of that. I want nothing to do with the red card machine that is Felipe Melo.
I'd love to have Sakho, but I'd be fine with Samba and Jagielka. I'd rather not overpay for Cahill.
I hope Bartley gets a chance, but I have a feeling if we buy a CB (and don't sell one of them) that we will let Rangers buy Bartley. I don't know why Miquel seems to be higher on Wenger's totem pole, but he is.

same here. I wouldn't mind overspending for him. shite, I wouldn't mind overspending for anyone at this point. we just need someone elite. I don't know how an air of desparation hasn't precipitated yet in our player valuation vs. pricetag. if we don't treat this summer as a 'make or break' situation then I'm going to unravel.

Apparently we just signed Ricky Alvarez from Velez in Argentina. Free transfer. 23 year old left footed winger/attacking mid.
eta: That's according to Fox Soccer. Here's a goal of his.

A goal from outside of the box? Wenger will bench him for that shite.

Highlight video
I had never heard of this guy 10 mins ago, but between the videos and twitter comments of people that know about him he sounds promising. And the most exciting part is he isn't 17.

looks like a he has a good skill set, thought there wasn't a good look at technique other than his weight on passes, which looked nice. also I like seeing that he's used to playing as an inverted winger and as a natural winger. in some highlights he also appeared to be high up in a striker's position.
I hope he serves as a replacement for Rosicky. I'm not so certain Arshavin will be leaving this summer.

This scout, Tor-Kristian Karlsen, seems skeptical about him after having watched him play. LINK
Go down a little ways and he starts talking about Alvarez. Apparently Alvarez wasn't a regular with this Velez team. My fear is that we've gotten confused with Arsenal de Sarandi, the Argentine club.
Truth be told, he doesn't look like any sort of upgrade.

That's what others have speculated. Makes more sense honestly.

Not to say this wouldn't be an Arsene sort of signing. This kid could be the next Amaury Bischoff.

What do peeps think of Koscielny this year? I think, in the end, it was a good signing, though he was prone to idiotic mistakes reminiscent of Senderos, he bounced back well, and with the right CB partner, he'll be more than serviceable. His ability to read the game along the ground is really excellent, but his trouble is that in the air his headers don't seem to have much distance under them even though he wins plenty.
Obviously Squillaci was a big bust, but I think a rotation of Djourou, TV, Kos, and one more player is a solid CB group.

I just watched an hour of Eden Hazrd youtube videos. If we don't break the bank for him I will be some kind of pissed off. He really fits the Arsenal philosophy to a tee. Good bye Andrei.

Yep. I have no problem with Kosc.

If we don't get Hazard, which we probably won't, I'm excited about Ryo. Obviously not as accomplished, but if we can get a work permit, he can serve the Theo role off the bench. Watch some of his highlights. LINK
With good technique, and his speed (which apparently rivals Walcott's) I think the wings are in good hands, even without Hazard. If we lose Nasri, then we really need to splash out some money for Hazard.

Exactly. Hazard's pace and creativity make him a no brainer over Arshavin IMO. Splash the Wal-Mart cash.

Ryo looks to be a special talent. Doesn't seem likely that he'll get a work permit though. If only Theo had his skill on the ball.
I'm all for Hazard.
As for Kos, at the beginning of the season I thought he was hopeless. I've eased up a bit and think he could be a decent reserve CB. I still believe he was a horrible purchase overall. To pay that much for a mediocre CB of that age was poor from Wenger. He's aggressive and a solid tackler, but I don't see him improving too much in his weak areas (aerial balls, strength, positioning) enough to become a very good or great PL CB. Still should be a solid 4th CB for us.
On a totally different note, @OliverKayTimes called out Arsenal somewhat on Twitter this morning saying that we overplayed him this season knowing the FA's intentions on how they would use him this summer. While I had hoped he would be rested more after we were eliminated on all fronts, injuries haven't really allowed that. Also, I seem to remember Wenger saying that Wilshere won't be playing for us until September or later to allow him to rest after the summer. If that's the case. I just hope he doesn't get hurt this summer for some stupid, meaningless U21 championship.

yeah, but the clubs are the ones who play millions of dollars of wages, the ones that grow them up like saplings into oaks. the FA occasionally has the outlook that clubs are like libraries and if the goods they check out and return are damaged, oh well.
it's a little suspect that Andy Carroll is being given a pass. he may be returning from injury - I'm not sure what the context is for his absence - but to neglect the case for fatigue and durability for Wilshere is the source of great anxiety for us gunners.

Fare thee well, Niklas. I will eagerly root for you wherever you end up (as long as it's not an EPL rival).
On the plus side, Jack was left out of the U-21s! Yessssssss

A move does seem inevitable. If only he was English we could get 35mil for him.
I'm not sure Bayern would be the best option for him, but I wish him the best in his future endeavors.
So now that the season if over, who do you all think leaves Arsenal this summer? Wenger said, "For the first time in a while, I will be very active in the transfer market." I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I would imagine anywhere from 4-10 guys will be offloaded for various reasons, one of which being to make room for the newbies. I think there are a few different categories of those who may leave in the summer.
For sure goners: Bendtner, Denilson, Almunia, Rosicky
If you don't sign an extension, we'll have to sell you and every Arsenal fan will cry: Nasri
If you don't sign an extension, we'll have to sell you and most Arsenal fans will rejoice underestimating your solid play: Clichy
Will you go to Barca this summer or next? Cesc
London Groupon deal of the day: Buy one Arsenal player, get this guy free: Squillaci
Could potentially be sold, but likely will be held on to: Arshavin, Eboue, Diaby, Vela
