Pretty, pretty, prettyyyy pumped about tomorrow. It's usually impossible to predict any top 4 matchups.
Our forward selection should be interesting. I'd like to see arshavin chamakhand rvp up front. Thinking rosicky nasri song. Kos and squid paired (god help us). Maybe Wilshere could get the start? Which arshavin will show up (if he starts). I'd like to see cesc and Theo come on in the last 25-30.

On the other side, will rio be fully fit and in sync? Will Rooney finally score since returning? Clichy and nani battling makes me a little fearful. I anticipate they will play counter attacking ball. I expect us to take our traditional high possession percentage.

Most of all I pray that Patrice Evra is humiliated and that berbatov does something cool but doesn't score or assist

Nasri's been so good on the wing I doubt he gets moved back into the midfield. Even today he had an interview on Arsenal dot com saying he'd continue playing on the wing because that is where he's thriving.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't Arshavin/Chamakh/Nasri up front once again. Rosicky/Wilshere/Song in the middle. I still think RvP needs to be worked back in cautiously.

I'd rather have Nasri start right. His build up play with Sagna is superb. We could drop RVP in the hole with Song and Wilshere behind him.

I hope Walcott comes on late in the game and skins him.

Agreed. And Nasri has been lights out on the wings, he has been putting up a clinic lately. Hopefully the wee little Russian shows up as well, I had to look away a few times during the CL match.

oh jaysus...

young guns:

Wojciech Szczesny will start against Manchester United, according to The Sun. He hinted at it on his Twitter earlier.

Szczesny on his Twitter page earlier: "I am more then prepared for Rooney tomorrow". It would be his first Premier League start.

The Sun's @CharlieWyett, who wrote the Szczesny article, is quite vague on details. Says Fabiański has a "leg" injury.

worrying that our third stringer might be playing in a match of such magnitude.

If anything, he's our Maverick if we have to use Top Gun references. Talented, confident bordering on cocky. I'm excited to see him.

in that case I hope that after the match he throws his dogtags into the stretford end of old trafford, in honor of his clean sheet.

God right now I'm watching a bunch of soccer videos with Sigur Ros playing in the background. It makes everything that much more epic. They should be the soundtrack for every sporting event.

Szcezny is better than Fabianski, but he is young and still has much to learn. Not sure how I feel about him starting against ManU, but I agree that he doesn't lack confidence. Depending on how tomorrow goes, this could be his big break.

Maybe I'm being a little presumptuous, but I'm ready to get him out there and solve our keeper dilemma once and for all.

I was doing some investigating, and I'm not so sure that Szczesny is starting tomorrow. For one, The Sun article is extremely vague. Two, Szczesny's twitter says "Yes I do and I am more than prepared for Rooney tomorrow." But he is in fact answering a question from some fan about whether he always studies the previous direction of penalties. Thirdly, Fabianski hasn't been ruled out, and Almunia has, according to arsenal.com. So I'm not sure what to make of these reports, so I'm a little hesitant to believe that Wenger would give a 20 year old GK his first PL start at OT.

I agree. I will be very surprised if Szczesny gets the start. Fabianski has actually been playing pretty well.

I am definitely feeling anxious. I'm having trouble focusing at work. Szczesny is definitely getting the start, but I don't feel too alarmed at that. If it's any consolation he has played in 3 EPL matches and kept 3 clean sheets in the process.

I think our defensive effort will aid his lack of experience in a match like this.

Im nervous. I really hope Arshavin has a good game he hasnt exaclty been his top performing self. I think if he has a good game and nasri continues to be himself it will be a good game for arsenal

I don't particularly favor either team but I'm excited for this one. Consider me an honorary Gooner for the day though, I like Arsenal 3-1.
