So if this is all true, Arsenal are actually retarded, this was never going to happen.

bit insane. We have made great decision after great decision for fricking years now. I trust the club. The only dumbass decisions I can think of are Fabio Vieira (still gonna make an accounting profit on him), arguably Madueke and he's like the worst paid senior player not named MLS/Nwaneri/Dowman and now Meslier.

Trust the Process. Winning another few league titles AND a Champions League will pay for this dude and 2 or 3 more like him the next few years. We gucci baw

I just don't think we will offer enough to lure him to Arsenal.

Feel completely different now knowing to match their offer we need to pay him 40m.

We should find out more today if they have that meeting.

Well supposedly the meeting is over. My gut feeling is he's staying at Madrid.

Take this with a grain of salt as everything you read about online, but evidently Real Madrid made 15 million on Vini’s image rights each year. Vini took home the other half. That money will now be all for him and is part of the total compensation package

Latest from Ornstein, Vini rejects Real Madrid’s new contract proposal after meeting today.

There isn't enough beer and popcorn in the world for this.

Trust me, I was all on board before realizing it is net pay.

I saw some graphics showing what the players made with their base salary and seeing Vini's under 300k, I was like hell yeah! We can beat that, they don't respect Vini. Then you learn that's his take home pay, not what Madrid is actually paying.

I think it's more likely he runs down his contract than signs with Arsenal now. The money is crazy; I would have said the same from the beginning if I had been looking at that as net.

Need to caveat this. If we do pay him close to what he wants, which is more like 54-56 million gross, I think he will come. I just don't think we are going to pay that on top of 100m+ transfer fee.

Bummer, but not really. It's a pipe dream at best.

Seen some stuff on a podcast Ornstein was on this morning, nothing ground breaking, Arsenal confident they'll sign him if he leaves, up to the player. RM not budging on wages

This probably goes down to the last week of the window I'm guessing. I highly doubt RM let him run down his contract

I am still not super optimistic, but I cannot see Madrid running down the contract. . Perez is a pretty smart guy, they will sell him if he does not agree on the contract. They would lose so much money on that deal.

Just a note unrelated to that story, there are 2 reports with last names Jacobs:

Ben Jacobs: Bad
Gary Jacobs: Good

At least when it comes to Arsenal

Well if we thought Yildiz was astronomical it kind of aligns with my thinking. We never had the money to make Vini a frick off offer. So he's going to stay.

He's not going to take a similar deal or a few quid more to come to Arsenal.

Just don't see it.

Probably why links to Ndiaye are popping up. Could end the window with a guy like Ndiaye and another defender.

We are still winning the league without Vini. Plus Bruno could be what unlocks a Martinelli.

Lol, and Ben Jacobs here is saying we have offered more than Madrid. Transfer talks start at 4:42 if you want to skip the Infantino stuff.
