I think it's over to be honest. This manager and squad have not proven they have what it takes.
Obviously they can prove me wrong but they won't.

That may be true, and I can take it if they continue to play well the rest of the season. If they'd played like that against Wolves, Brentford, Bournemouth this game wouldn't have mattered at all.
You can excuse other teams being better and getting a result, but playing like we have at times this year just isn't really acceptable.
Some of that is on Arteta for choosing the lineups he did, some is on the players for playing like shite
My expectations now are so low, so it happening again won't pain me much to be honest. But they'll have to change things in some form or fashion, and maybe for this group of players/coach it's the end.

Also, just for conversation sake:
All of our remaining games are against bottom half sides, and all but 1 of City's are against top half sides (and sides fighting for CL/EL quals)

Today was a great game to watch us attack at City. We have never done that since we last won there in 2015.
Should’ve scored 4. It is what it is.
Just give it a go and win out. City have some tough fixtures coming up so you never know. Just keep the pressure on and force them to win on GD if they are gonna do it. Don’t give them another lead in dropped points.
The world did not end today. We gave it a good go and should’ve got something, but that’s life sometimes

Need Timber, Cala, Saka back next weekend, even if only available on the bench. Need everyone for these last (at least) 7 games.

After thinking about it all day, I am proud of the boys today. They (outside of Noni and Martinelli) were great IMO. The only thing left to do is score a frick ton the last few weeks. Eze needs to start at LW the rest of the season. He's arguably been our best player since March

I still think we can beat atletico over two legs if we play our game. I just don't see us winning 5 premier league games and city dropping points.
We don't have enough of this in our team. Our attack is missing real quality. Our wingers are actual dog shite. Without Odegaard and saka we just suck.

Kai/Odegaard/Saka haven't started together since Dec 24. Crazy stat
I think if you get all of them with Eze LW it's our best out and out technical group and probably goal threat group

At this point I'm all for rolling with Rice/Odegaard/Eze midfield in the prem to try and push as much offense as possible.
Leave Zubi to rest for champs league

Just 3 weeks PL morning show had you winning the treble.
You're out of 1 for sure MC still has a game extra on you and a favorable schedule while your in the CL.
May lose the PL and I dont see you winning the CL
0-3
KTBFFH

Yeah, really shows how shite the other PL teams are that Arsenal are the only ones to make a champions league semi final.
The difference between a zubimendi minutes and a Silva or O'Reilly are the 2 extra CL matches we played.

Citys last 10 PL games in each of the last three season have a combined record of 25 wins, 4 ties and a loss
so far this year they are 2 wins and 2 draws
they really know how to close out a season on a high note
Need an absolute miracle of all miracles to happen

If tweet fails to load, click here. Clear change in how we've played for most of 2026 calendar year.
No surprise, we hoof it down the pitch far too often. A lot of that is Rice/Zubi lack of build up prowess combined with Odegaard/Cala/White out with Vik starting majority of games.
Forgot about Merino too

Just going by our history.
We draw against Newcastle, title over. We then go win our last 4 games and lose the league by 2 points because the pressure was off.

-3 goal differential
Need to put the best attacking lineup out there each match and go for it. Swing for the fences.

Well GD is even right now but they win the goals for and head-to-head tie breaker.
GD
GF
H-2-H
H-2-H away goals scored
Playoff match

Still an avenue to go ahead in either of the top 2 since its so close
Posted on 4/22/26 at 4:23 pm to ATLienTiger
Yeah, I was just clarifying if we score more than them but concede more, we could still lose on GD. If that game did finish 1-1 we could get a playoff match. But impossible now because they have the H-2-H. The H-2-H away goals is even tied.
Too close for my liking. Draws against Sunderland, 10 man Chelsea, this liverpool team, Wolves, Forest, Brentford have cost us.

If we don't manage to do it this go round, I fear the worst
