Also, I hope we completely punt Carabao and FA cups next year. Play the kids and backups.

We played entirely too much football this year, and 3/4 of our roster won't get a break until Mid July.

I think I agree. Use carabao and fa cup to develop young players

He gave the corner and then someone chimed in on the headset and you can see him listen and he called half. I would assume it was the booth telling him that was the end of extra time. I don’t disagree it’s rare as hell but I’ve seen it happen before. Not unprecedented

Hell of a season. I wasn’t as upset with the loss today as I would’ve normally been, I started looking at the CL as cherry on top of this season as soon as we won the league. I told some people back in December that id rather have a PL than a CL, and thankfully we ended up winning the one I most wanted. Sucks the way we lost but it isn’t the end of the world. We will be back. Arteta is one of the best tacticians and man mangers in the world, and we’ve got a very very good squad but we just didn’t have enough gas after 63 games. I don’t post here as much as I used to but it’s been a very fun ride. Here’s to one of our boys winning it all this summer (if Ronaldo doesn’t) and I’ll see y’all when the transfer rumors start up

My friend that’s the biggest cherry to ever be associated with that saying

obviously, but my point was that regardless of the result we still had a very good, successful season. We won the premier league. If we had lost the league then of course the loss today would’ve been much worse. We were almost playing with house money today based on how the league season went was what I was getting at.

Agreed, but it was imperative we win something this year to not have to potentially hit the reset button.

6 years for any "big" trophy, 22 years for PL. I think everyone would probably trade a UCL for PL, but a bird in hand is worth more than 2 in the bush.

Heartbreaking way to lose, but winning the PL takes away the sting a bit, at least for me personally.

The whole thing was just weird, and then the ref cards Mosquera 2 min in to the 2H. Up until the end of the 1H I thought he was quite fair, and of course I'm a bit biased, but the 2nd half felt like he was heavy handed against Arsenal.

I don't have much beef with the pen given, or the one not given, the rest of it was a bit suspect in my opinion. Yellow card on Saka was a perfect example, Saka gets ball first, and him and doue clatter each other and Saka walks away with a yellow & PSG get a FK in a dangerous area

I think the corner thing was a cumulative call. I could have easily seen it given as well. However just before that the ball was exchanged to 3 different players before throwing it in, then saka goes as slow as humanly possible and takes time to take deep breaths and stuff. Think the ref just had had enough of the time wasting. Most every team watching it was fine with the no corner, I doubt many Arsenal fans were very annoyed with the amount of time they were taking on every set piece and corner, but it was a lot.

You forfeit any offensive attacking grace when you score in the first ten minutes and then immediately park the bus. No one wants to see that.

It was likely the best chance for Arsenal to win, and it almost worked. It's not fun to watch, and they need to get better at attacking, but all week everyone has been saying that Arsenal were going to get waxed and PSG created basically nothing from Open play.

In ET they just passed it around for 20-25 min and waited for PKs

I don’t blame Arsenal for playing to win. But when you play like that and still lose, it’s just tragic to see. And I have no dog in the fight. I don’t even have a favorite premier league team lol

Yeah I mean they just don’t have the midfield to hang with a team like psg and I know Arsenal fans don’t want to hear that. They talk about needing a winger but you can’t even keep the ball. The midfield forfeited their entire third in the second half. What was that

It's not a midfield problem, the attackers lack the necessary skills to make the ball stick.

At the end you have Noni, Vik, Martinelli and none of them can retain balls.

And honestly, it's overall ball retention (technical ability) in the team.

Typical low iq response.

You'd rather us play like inter and get beat 5-0? The strategy for the until the pen was a winning one. The issue is you they couldn't turn it on when PSG got tired

I know you're a Spurs fan and this makes your year, but pipe the frick down in 17th place back to back years

The amount of clowns from other clubs coming out the woodwork to post in this thread today is hilarous.

Would like to add someone with Rice's engine to cover for us when he needs a rest (fat chance ) but a midfield bunch of Rice, MLS, Zubi, Merino is pretty solid. Just need someone that can make the recovery runs with pace, and none of the other 3 guys can.

A playmaking RB to replace White

A stud LW

And false 9/shadow striker guy to replace Jesus

The defense was unreal, both in the finals & semis. Really all of the knockout rounds

Have yall clocked that we didn't allow a single open play goal in all of the knockout rounds?

Leverkusen: 1 goal, corner
Sporting: 0 goals
Atletico: 1 goal, pen
PSG: 1 goal, pen

Unquestionably the best OOP team in the world, just need to get the attack going, with the defense taking a step back

Ifs and buts...

Great season by the Gunners. Premier League champs and made the finals in Carabao Cup and CL.
