Wish we had the same type of luck on that goal all season.

they overachieved this season IMO.

never imagined they would beat Real Madid to make the quarterfinals in the CL...they've folded like cheap lawn chairs whenever they played a big club in the past.

also, have a chance again to finish 2nd 3 years in a row

but ya, i feel like this is their ceiling with Arteta regardless of who they bring in as striker...i will not believe this is the fix until I have seen this with my own eyes

Okay, lets talk about this game.

Where is Nwaneri?

Arteta sucks with substitutes so it doesnt fricking matter how big our squad is.

shite and this was in 2022, so he gave us a good 5 months. We have had 5 transfer windows since then? So yeah, should have already bought a new center forward.

This is insane. Late substitutions aside Arteta has been phenomenal imo.

i didn't say he was bad, lol. I just don't think he'll ever win a major trophy while here.

Well appropriately the gay frogs go to finals. Haven’t won a real battle or war in 100 years but the gay frogs are good at soccer.

Just not good enough, need a result this weekend, 0 chance we do anything vs Newcastle and them fighting for CL

Hopefully we get a squad makeover this summer.

2 trophies in 10 years, none in the last 5

I love Arteta and how he’s transformed the club, but man 5 years without a trophy hurts. No way else to put it. I’ll always back him until the end, but next year is going to be brutal pressure wise for him and the team.

Donnarumma man. He is the reason we lost this tie. Guy is pure class.

Luis Enrique kinda schooled Arteta these past two games. A healthy Arsenal are the better squad on paper but no Gabriel is tough to overcome. His tactics were one step ahead of Mikel's on multiple occasions. I watched him do the same to Slott barely two months ago. Good luck next season.

I think both games were pretty even. The only schooling that PSG had over Arsenal was finishing. Arteta could not have set the squad up better today IMO

On xG we won this 5.11 to 3.08 which includes a PSG penalty. IDK if that is schooling

Are we really though? Hakimi, Kvaradona, Donnarumma, and Dembele would all walk into our starting lineup.

We looked like the better team today but didn’t put away our chances. Individual errors (Partey on Hakimi’s goal being the big one), and Saka’s late miss tanked our chances. Plus not having Partey in the first game completely changed how we were forced to play.

Are people forgetting we made it to the CL semis without a fricking striker?

He also "cleared" the ball right back into the center of the box on the 1st.

We dominate most teams box to box and lack finishing prowess. Really the only thing holding this team back at this point.

It’s been the story of the season, and really the last 2 years. In the games we lose/draw we dominate matches, can’t put one in, other teams score on a narrow margin, and the ability of us to put the ball in the net becomes more glaring.

There have been VERY few times in the last few years that in a big game, we get a needed goal to save a point or win the game.

They’ve got 4 attackers AND loaned another out that would start at any spot but RW for us. They were able to bring on Dembele, who has more G/A this season (43) than our first attacker on Trossard has in 2 full seasons (37). Just not a fair fight, when as good as our defense is, the other team only need to get it right once on attack, while we have to get it right everytime because we just don’t have the horses in attack to out score great teams (or average teams in the Prem)

It’s an ongoing problem that I know the club knows about, and hopefully they make the necessary signings to correct it

I’ll also add that Donnarumma was incredible in both legs. We’ve probably got 3 or 4 goals across the 2 legs without him in net

xG is the worst stat to judge a team like Arsenal on. It shows that you created chances but that's not Arsenal's issue. Like the other poster said, it's making the net ripple after a big chance that is the Achilles heel. I bet this is the 15th game this season where the Gunners finished with an xG of 5 or more and scored 1 goal or less. Saka's open goal miss late in the second half was a microcosm of this entire season in a single moment.

I think it is the perfect stat. We created chances and we had no one to finish them

Time to give the armband to Rice or Gabriel they are the true leaders of this team. Ode is not the leader anymore
