So Gabriel gets called for that shirt pull outside the box. That was like a short/shirt pull.

It seems about right. Brentford were doing everything they could to time waste, had a few guys go down injured too.

Ramsdale will never see the pitch again unless it’s due to injury. He cost us the title last year giving up almost double the amount of keeper error goals to the next keeper. Great saves are awesome, giving away goals is inexcusable.

Ehh without the mistake that gane is 2-2 without his saves. Raya gets chipped there, he never makes that save.

Again raya had the same mistakes when cold. Passed it rt to a palace player when he wasn’t cold.

It’s the way Arteta wants to play.

I think the narrative around ramsdale is bullshite.

His throw would have had y’all creaming your pants if that was raya.

I bet on Arsenal to win, but if I could bet in Arsenal to win and ramsdale to make a mistake I would have. It was predictable.

Let’s go way back to Martinez. Was fricking terrible coming in one off games. Gets a run of games and it’s like oh shite, he’s actually the best keeper at the club.

Look at Kiwior. Run of games, he looks great.

If this was ramsdale playing due to injury and he had to finish the season. I guarantee that doesn’t happen again.

So if we don’t win the league you going to blame raya for his performance against spurs? Personally that’s in Arteta. Playing a player that wasn’t even with us for pre season away at spurs?

I don't believe in this fallacy talk. That goal was absolutely embarrassing and took all of our momentum away.

I do think it's unfair that he gets thrown into the squad once every few months and expect him not to be rusty.

It really is unfortunate that it wasn't martinelli at the end of it

In my humble opinion, Ramsdale is the better defensive goalie and if he was allowed to play back like they did a decade ago he would be one of the best in the league.

My son had the same style and got save of the year every year he played, wall full of tournament mvp medals to prove it. When playing back he was damn near invincible. I used to enjoy leaving games to hear the other teams say “where did they get that goalie, he is ridiculous” , one team even called him a “god” and the top regional team wanted to play us in friendly games just to play him. (30 something saves against them one game)

But that’s not what they want now, 30 saves, even some ridiculous ones isn’t enough anymore. It used to be the goalies job was to prevent goals but not anymore. They want them to play way out to start offensive attacks etc. I certainly understand it, it’s lagniappe but many goalies don’t like playing up like that. My son had a terrible fear of a chip right over him for a goal which happened occasionally when he played up and those goals bothered him, and I think they do all goal keepers, it’s like being megged or dunked on or something. It’s extremely frustrating and embarrassing for them. It was a battle with my son and his coach for years. If he had just taken the time to explain it to him it might have been better. You are going to get chipped, it’s ok that’s on me. But he was an a-hole. This is the Raya vs Ramsdale situation to me.
That’s what Ramsdale made the terrible error, he had to think, to be like Raya. To be something he is not.

Of course, managers coaches don’t care, it’s part of the strategy but they are taught as baby goal keepers to play back to avoid that. That’s the source of so many unnecessary goals to me.

1-1 tie MC LIverpool 2 minutes left in regulation. Maybe another big win for the gunners. Update: 1-1 final gunners are in first place until the end of the month. Geaux Gunners

Just need to beat or draw City at the end of the month.

The league is there for the taking. Do they have the strength to do it?

This is how you play this Arsenal team. Or not play since that’s what it is.

quote:

The ball was in play for less than 50% of tonight's match between Arsenal and Brentford. Total time: 105:01 Time in play: 49:26

Which is also why set piece goals are so important.

Yeah I saw some people say lack of concentration, that’s not it. His face I can see the wheels turning, he was way over thinking that, took an extra touch to get it right.

This is right before the header save. Our team switched off, guess who didn’t? Ramsdale.

Ramsdale had double the amount of keeper error goals last year to second place. It’s why Raya is here. Ramsdale was a huge reason we stumbled down the stretch.

City and Liverpool with a draw today was exactly what we wanted. Rare that happens.

Spurs beating Aston Villa also makes things interesting and I would not sleep on them. They will have a final say in the title race. In late April / early May they have this schedule:

vs City
vs Arsenal
At Liverpool

Some Raya stats this season: 93% cross catch percentage, 100% ground duel success, 100% throw accuracy, and 5 passes leading directly to a shot on goal. There is a reason he has taken over Ramsdale.
