Let’s go- very offensive lineup.

Tierney replaces Xhaka, pre-match injury.

Wonder if this was a little bit of gamesmanship from Arteta or if Xhaka being injured in warmups in the first game that Tierney is back on the bench was purely a coincidence.

I was surprised to see kt in when I switched on.
Feel bad for that chequeze or whatever his name is.

shite first half. Need to be better. Gabi has got to come on soon.

Need Cedric to come on for Bellerin, as well. I'd probably take off Saka for Gabi. Saka just doesn't seem to have to same energy lately.

Arteta ball fricking sucks

Yep. That's the last of my support for Arteta gone.

At least I don't have to subscribe to Paramount Plus for another year of this shite. No urgency tonight. Auba unlucky with hitting the post twice.

Lol, we lost to coquelin and Unai.
This club and manager are a joke.

Paramount Plus sneakily has some good content on it besides Champions/Europa League.

Going to be interesting with no European football next year. Auba may want out now. I expect Laca to be gone.

We are a team that doesn't shoot enough or create any threat. Terrible.
Imagine Arsene with Auba, Laca, Pepe, Saka, Martinelli, etc etc.
He would score 3 goals a game with this squad. Arteta can't coach attacking football. fricking Unai coached an attack better.
Done with Arteta permanently.
On the bright side, the value of the club just went down so Kroenke will lose money

Well now it’s official this season is complete waste. Gunners did nothing

Silver linings.
I’ve stopped caring tbh. Until they sell the club I’ve given up hope of us doing anything worth a damn, other than a random cup run every once in a while.

I always felt like Emery got a raw deal at Arsenal. His hands were tied with managing all that dead weight on the roster
I think the team now is much more talented than what Emery had to deal with, but its not transitioning to W's.
I didnt' watch the second half, but it was probably like the 1st half and alot of the season where they play like they were winning and realized they arent' by the 80th minute at which they start pressing hard to get a goal.
Not at all surprised at the result, had a feeling Emery's team squeak by

The reality is that neither Emery nor Arteta are up for the job. We should have backed Wenger 100% rather than rely on anyone else. Wenger understood that when you are constrained from getting the best players, the answer isn't to become a stilted, defensive team obsessed with defensive spacing. That is precisely the way you get to the mid-table. You have to be expansive with your play, and you have to put pressure on the opponent, regardless of whether they are made up of superstars or also-rans. It's amazing to me that there were only a handful of games under every season, maybe 5 or less, where we were definitively out-classed.
People insisted Wenger wasn't being pragmatic when he insisted on the attacking principles, but it should be obvious now that he was being pragmatic by insisting on them, as it was calculated decision based on percentages. Limiting the time his error-prone defenders actually had to defend, limiting the amount of possession the other team had, limiting the amount his players had to think and rather, focus all his time on making patterns and movements second nature and fluid.
This is a bad team, among the worst we've ever fielded, and unless Arteta understands how Wenger could consistently get top-four despite fielding far worse players, he is going to be sacked. We might as well get fricking Allardyce if we are going to play 11 behind the ball.
What needs to happen is Arteta has to stop choking the creativity and movement out of this team. Stop tinkering and let them play, with attacking principles reinforced in training through small sided games.

It’s more than just a manager. Wegners last year and a half we were shite. We were more shitty under Emory, slight improvement under MA but it’s organization problems.
We went back to back windows spending big money on players that multiple managers struggled to find a way to play them on the field together (Laca & Auba). In the same window as signing Laca, we overpaid for Kola.
Sold a declining Sanchez, but massively overpaid for Henri M
Outbid ourselves for Pepe, overpaid to keep Ozil, over pay to get Willian.
Then we do business with a “super agent” to get a full back (Cedric) that can play on the right or left, but actually he’s so bad we have to put a midfielder in his place.
Then let Ramsey go on a free.
But yeah let’s blame the manager for not keeping up with the top teams when we haven’t been in the champions league for 5 years? And who knows what penalties we have coming our way with the Super League fiasco. No this is on the organization, starting with silent sam.
They can fire MA but it’ll be the same issues with the next guy. Not saying Arteta is the man for the job but he’s not our biggest issue.
