Arsenal XI vs Villarreal: Leno, Chambers, Holding, Mari, Xhaka, Partey, Ceballos, Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe, Pepe

Subs: Ryan, Okonkwo, Bellerin, Gabriel, Willian, Aubameyang, Cedric, Luiz, Nelson, Elneny, Nketiah, Martinelli
Pepe up top, I'd assume.

I'd say Xhaka still.

Need to fire Arteta. And Partey has been a giant disappointment. We bought a midfielder that can't shoot and misplace passes regularly.

I've lost all faith in Arteta. WTF was that lineup? ESR as a false 9? Don't try and copy Pep's formation from yesterday, he has much better players at his disposal, and even then having a 6 man mid didn't look that great for him.

Xhaka at left back simply doesn't work. Ceballos is a complete waste. Cedric has done nothing wrong to not play right back over Chambers. Partey has indeed been an massive overpay, but so too was Pepe his first year.

Its too cute. This is a good game against a team that usually dont play well at home this season, to just play players in their positions. Not try something different.

i do agree, but then hes had the 3rd most goal contributions behind laca and auba since hes been here. So he has had something to show for it.

Villareal give up as many shots as they take pretty much. This match is begging for a striker.

Hopefully Arteta doesn't do his usual dumb shite and wait till the 70th or later for his 1st sub. Arsenal HAVE to get an away goal. 2-0 heading back to the Emirates given their home record doesn't look promising at all.

Ceballos has cost Arsenal in so many matches, the own goals/errand passes near his own box, and now that red.

That said, I am more upset with Arteta. Ceballos was complete shite all match, but Arteta should have subbed him off after that 1st yellow.

Such a shame, because Arsenal were dominating possession and were in Villareal's box all 2nd half.

Even down a man Arsenal had the bulk of possession. They are around the box all the time, just can't get a real attacking threat. Please bring on a striker/attacking player.

Ever since it's gone to 10 vs 10 Arsenal look like shite, what the heck is wrong with these players? It's almost like they are now settling for a 2-1 loss.

Not a bad result considering they looked fricking awful the first half and played down a man for 23 minutes. Need Tierney and Auba back for the next match.

Once again we've overthought the entire thing. Play cedric at LB put your best midfeilders in the damn midfeild and give your attackers a chance. no one to get shots off. Pepe was the best hope but hes playing on the left on his bad foot. Just none of it makes sense.

need to sell elneny and make money now while he’s on a scoring streak

hate that this team plays with my emotions

4 pts back from 7th i believe but they’ll likely fold next game given this team has shown zero consistency all year

we cant run more than 3 wins together. Huge problem.

But the team played well. Was hard to watch because they kept doing double screen and talking about united.

Anyone think we could go with the chambers gabriel combo on thursday? Could give us a bit more speed at cb.

Chambers played well there before his injury.

But that would mean a start for bellerin or cedric at rb.
