I have purposely been avoiding this thread the last month because it just pisses me off how shitty we have been. Arteta has to be on a very short leash. And how the frick is Willian still getting starts? He’s been dreadful.

I think at least Josh seems interested, but I also don't understand what the clubs structure is. I'd rather Steve Bould run the club than Edu, who had a remarkably shitty interview today that gives me absolutely no confidence in anyone.

There are rumors the dressing room is gone, and frankly, I would be happy to never sign for "experience" ever again. Luiz is fricking terrible, Willian is a passenger and what was the point of Lechsteiner. We should have sold Sanchez, Ozil, and Auba when they went into the last year of their contracts, and we shouldn't have sold Iwobi, as he was an ideal Arsenal type player, except for his final ball. But he could progress the play far better than fricking Xhaka.

I'm so intensely frustrated by this club. At least with Wenger we looked good going forward. We can't even defend well at the moment. The decision to build everything around Arteta seems even odder, given his inexperience. His tactics are regressive, just like Emery, when the situation calls for us to be bold and inventive. Wenger was forced out because of defensive miscues, but the defense hasn't noticeably improved with other managers. The problem has to be, in some part, the players. Luiz, Xhaka, and Mustafi are utterly clueless, yet they get contract extensions, or offered new contracts, or are convinced to stay. And how do they repay that undeserved faith? By continuing to be shite. At least with Wenger, shite players were forced away. But for some reason we want to keep these players? And we go from having years of incredibly productive wingers to fricking Willian? Theo Walcott, who people shite on, was a better winger statistically and on the actual field. Walcott actually moved without the ball. All Willian does is pass back to Bellerin. Alexis Sanchez would be more productive. So would Iwobi or Ox.

And frankly, I don't know how Arteta teaches attacking play. Something as simple as making a dummy run to free another player from a marker, working to create an overload, or double movement based on the simple concept of drawing markers upfield with a second player or even a third player moving into the vacated space. This is shite you can do at a fricking pick-up game. And yet, our attacking involves moving the ball to the wing, and either letting Willian face his marker only to move it backward, or let Saka and Tierney create something from not their positioning or attacking nous provided by Arteta, but based on their technical and athletic ability to find a yard of space to send a ball in, that is cut off at the edge of the six by a defensive player who isn't worried about anyone in the air, or any inventive run by Laca. I'm convinced I could teach a better attacking game just by a simple rotation system.

Arteta is supposed to be this tactical genius, but honestly I don't see it yet. His double triangle system that we used against Liverpool in the Charity Shield to break the press was inventive, yes, but it also was incredibly easy to stop once teams targeted Xhaka, who couldn't turn and thus had no ability to move the ball forward or to the right side of the field.

Our only hope is for some other billionaire to take an interest, someone who cares.
