Today has been a fricking disaster for us thus far.
Huge holes at striker, CB, and, imo most importantly, CDM and not shite is being done about it. An injury to any player on our defense will leave us crippled imo. It's a high possibility that more injuries are going to come too, looking at you Gibbs.
Just get Carvalho, who doubles as a CB, and boom we're set imo. If we don't do anything I fear for our top 4 hopes. United have improved a slight bit, they're defense still sucks but so did Liverpool's last season. Tottenham is better. I fear that we'll get beatdowns at the hands of other contenders again this season. Chelsea, Liverpool, and City look very good, despite City's loss to Stoke. This fricking sucks.

So we are signing Danny Welbeck?
Posted on 9/1/14 at 12:22 pm to MillerMan
As of 5 minutes ago, he's allegedly undergoing a medical at Arsenal.

Some are saying this is because the England national team is training at the Arsenal facility and it could still be either us or Spurs. Signs point to it being us though as Welbeck would rather an Arsenal move.
ETA: looks more and more like Arsenal.

Happy with that?

Not unhappy, I don't think any realistic Arsenal fan thought we would splash major cash after another attacker after getting Sanchez. Need cover at CB and a CDM way more.

It's better than Sanogo but still underwhelming.
If we also bring in Carvalho I'd be happy with the window.

I'll be pleased with Welbeck and Carvalho. I'll be meh with Welbeck. I haven't followed closely: are United getting Falcao?

To me, its kinda interesting to see the parallels in our current teams, philosophy and needs, to a degree... Carvalho would be a great signing..

Welbeck has supposedly done quite well when in the CF role, he struggles with wing play though which is fine.
Lots of rumors now that we are signing a french defensive midfielder who can also play CB. nobody knows who though.

beIN Sport just posted on Twitter that Carvalho has said he is staying Portugal.

I'll like Welbeck more if it's permanent. Good cover with upside, home grown, etc.
French CB/DM sounds like a dig at Arsenal fans. Kondogbia would be legit.

Not sure how reliable this is (probably not very)

Now we are cooking with gas. I'd be ecstatic if we landed KJH.

Is this legit? Or Incarcerated Bob type stuff?

No clue. I'm just running with any positive rumor so I don't end up crying all night.

I'd be okay with Wellbeck as a last-minute signing, if Arsene uses him as a 9.
I'd be thrilled if we signed both W and Carvalho.
If Theo comes back healthy, we could do very well on weekends AND weekdays with that roster.
