So the window is nearing closure and Arsenal have only really strengthened with Sanchez who to be fair is an amazing signing.

-Debuchy replaces Sagna
-Ospina replaces Fab
-Chambers essentially is replacing Verm

Arteta has been out for a good bit and Giroud has been down for a week.It looks like nothing is being done to strengthen at those glaring holes. What is the harm in bringing in Remy for peanuts to fill the void at ST? Sanogo isn't going to cut it in the slightest. So much for this supposed war chest when the net spend is minimal considering the Fabregas, Vela and Verm sales.

Here comes another year battling with a thin squad and being far too satisfied with 4th.

For a supposedly elite team we sure don't play like one. There is absolutely no end product. We look so stale going forward.

They need to be more direct. You can't pass it in to the goal every time.

Flamini is also a huge concern. He's a walking yellow card and has no passing range. Arteta may have seen his better days and I have certainly been frustrated with him but he's disciplined and can break down a good defense.

Sanogo and Flamini would never start a match for any other top 7 side.

We will get better. Sanchez is still figuring everyone out. But we still lack depth and it's a problem. Hopefully tomorrow brings good news. Otherwise we need remarkable health or it's going to be a tough year.

The sad thing is I felt a trophy would make us more ambitious for more. We upgraded with Sanchez at a spot we didn't have to upgrade, much like we did with Ozil last year, while ignoring glaring needs elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, thrilled to have them on board, but we have no balance in our squad at the moment because of glaring issues at CF, CM. CB is a depth issue. We just need a depth buy there.

Chambers has been fantastic, and Alexis gives 100% effort the entire time he's on the pitch.

But, there is just something missing from this team right now. Maybe everything will come together after some more time with each other. I don't know enough about the tactics of the sport to truly know what's amiss, but it's painfully obvious after watching the other top PL teams.

I hope Wenger makes some sort of move before the transfer deadline.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but looks like an offer's being made for Carlos Bacca:

Arsenal very unlikely to sign anyone before deadline. Barring late surprise & a couple of squad exits, #AFC business is done #bbcdeadlineday

Okay, in fairness, Ozil and Sanchez were tremendous signings for which I must applaud Arsene and the board.

However, a world-class striker is an immediate need. I get tired of hearing why it's impossible for us to make these types of signings, but City, United, Chelsea, etc. just go right ahead and make them.

Last ditch effort for Marco Reus?

Arsenal are planning to make a £40million bid for Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus before the transfer window shuts.

Zero chance.

It really looks like they aren't going to bring anybody else in. Well, this team really needs to stay healthy. Hopefully Theo can be like a new signing soon enough. I can't wait to see some Ozil passes Theo's way.

Paying 10 million for a player on loan then putting him on 250k/week is about the most anti-Wenger signing ever. I do agree it should have happened though.

No chance that would ever happen. The inequity on the wage scale is something he would never even think about. Most expensive rental ever.

This. I think it was a complete waste of Man U's money. Rooney, RVP, and Falcao combine to make £800K per week! Meanwhile, their starting defense is Jones, Evans, and Blackett.
