Sure down the road too, but this season particularly... I'm not opposed to selling him because 3 new starting quality players the likes of Studge and Coutinho will have us competing for top 4... and if you dont qualify this year, there is a high chance a 27 yr old Suarez will be one and done with arsenal...

Who would be reasonable targets at this point? Maybe Arsenal will take a look at Luis Muriel?

can say they're legitimately fighting for fourth

I never said legitimately. But that doesn't mean we should roll over and play dead by selling our biggest competition for the spot we want (however unlikely we are to get it).

Well I think this year is a microcosm of that idea. Its an immediate example of what you stated.

Arsenal draw Fenerbahce for the upcoming UCL qualifying matches.
First leg will be August 20/21, with the second at home on August 27/28.

This has some interesting potential with Fenerbahce's looming 24-month European football ban for match fixing.

Zelalem is traveling with the first team for the Manchester City friendly. dammit, arsene, temper my expectations! I've never been more excited for the League Cup.

fairly tough draw in the CL. I'll be in London for the second leg, but not sure I have the scrilla to do two matches

I think Fener are manageable, they don't have Didier to give us the business, and potentially we could lose to them and still make it.

Zelalem I am also excited for, as long as he doesn't decide that he has B*rca DNA and as long as we give him opportunities.

i wish we would take a page out of liverpools book. wont sell suarez to Arsenal, prob wont sell to any others cus its too late to sign a suitabke replacement.

we do this with every fricking good player. Dont think we win with rvp, maybe... but we wouldnt be pissing our selves hoping we get 4th going into the last matches.

Actually frick it, 20+ goaks and we prob battle for 1st. defense was good enough.

apparently the Colombian trialist Perez has impressed and we're going to try and sign him. (he's on the bench for this City friendly)

Y'all are looking real impressive to me.

If this game is a precursor to what the season will look like. City could be falling out of the top 4

That's why I said "£45m + Theo Walcott" because with the possible Bale deal being £85m ... the Suarez price went up to £75m

Why you ask?

A) As stated Bale deal
B) EPL premium price
C) Rival for top 4
D) Transfer Shenanigans (£40m + £1)

They haven't looked that bad.

Our defense is going to be hard to break down. Teams will have to rely on our typically retarded set piece defending to score.

I'm so pleased when I look at our team shape. We press just enough to make sure we aren't killed in transition, then we set into our shape so well. We have to figure out how to score when playing that deep, but I'd be surprised if we give up lots of goals in open play.
