The Ozil purchase speaks to a new era here, and hopefully we can stop using old retreads as stop gaps. We need to buy aggressively in the summer, and add athleticism to this team. We have to buy at a lot of positions so let's hope we do that instead of overspending on RvP just to ensure glory.

yeah the idea that we'd bring in an aging, injury-prone 31yo and pay multi-millions on the fee and make him our highest paid player, just doesn't fit. even if he hadn't boned us over, i'd think that was unlikely.

agreed on the athleticism. at CM, out wide, CB and RB too (since it seems less and less likely Sagna re-ups with us).

Bender, Draxler, and Jung would be good starts.

Balotelli partially funded by puma please. (At least that's the rumor)

Also any of the young wingers we've been linked with recently.

Grieze, draxler etc.

And unfortuanetly probably a rightback

We have to buy a CM, a striker, a CB, a RB, and a winger. We also need to buy a GK or two.

I imagine Vermaelen, Podolski, Miyachi, Coquelin, Djorou, Park, and maybe Arteta will leave.

Of the youngsters, we still have players like Samuel Galindo and Wellington Silva. They need to be cleared out. Then we have to figure out what to do with Joel Campbell. I imagine he can get us a nice fee if we decide he isn't good enough.

What´s your war chest level at, after having bought Özil?

posted today that we have ~140m in the bank (22m of which is cash cover we can't spend). plus 1st half of this year profits, new Puma & Emirates deals as well as new TV deals kicking in this summer, we could spend 150m if we wanted.

i think Park is out of contract. the others besides Arteta I agree with you on. I think Arteta will stay one or two more years but in a diminished role.

these guys aren't exactly holding us back and both should be running out of their deals soon. they're on tiny wages. wellington was such a bright prospect too. what a shame. wonder what could have been if he had gotten a visa and developed in our youth setup.

Joel Campbell

i think we're in talks to sell him to Olympiacos. he's done well there.

yeah, fabianski is out of contract so we need a backup for szcz.

considering the money we have available, who are some targets you'd like to see us pursue?

I'm hoping we spend big and secure Draxler, a CB, an RB, and a CF. Another winger couldn't hurt, either.

frick RvP. He can suck his own dirty, hairy little twat if I care.

I want Mathias Ginter as CB or Juan Jesus of Inter(or at least look at Juan), maybe someone like Lorenzo di Silvestri or Coke or Serge Aurier as RB, maybe someone like Idrissa Gueye as a defensive CM, or Gregory Sertic as a B2B player or Ivan Rakitic (dream). For a winger I'd love Griezmann, though I don't think we will get him. I'd like to try to get Diego Costa and Mandzukic, or maybe someone like Alexandre Lacazette.

I want five new players.

Diego Costa

The absolute best thing that could happen to the prem (and Arsenal, obviously). fricking fireworks every damned weekend. Fireworks and goals.

I don´t think Costa would like it there, however.

British women don't look as nice as Spanish women, so that's probably right. Oh, and the food isn't as good, but in London you can pretty much find any type of food you want, so I'm not sure if that's a legit complaint.

I just don´t think he´ll like the prem. Even if he lights it up like Torres when he landed at Liverpool.

Granted, the prem´s style suits him (poor positioning and heaving up and down the pitch willy nilly, benefit his penchant for wanting to dribble from the sidelines, and he´d be able to do so), but I think he´d grow tired quickly.

The only coach who could keep him interested is Mourinho, and I don´t know how long that would last (it would be a tumultuous love-hate relationship).

I wouldn't be complaining about a RVP redux , but I think there are better options this summer.

We do need a cf who can shoot lasers.

So apparently there has been a big stink about Giroud cheating on his wife in the team hotel before one of the last matches (pics of some broad coming in at 1 am and leaving hours later)

He just tweeted a bunch of stuff about apologizing to his family and club and wanting to do everything to make it better etc.

No wonder he looked exhausted the last few big matches.. Not to mention the personal aspect of I fricking hate cheating. blah. oh well.

Ooh boy the flamini-arteta combo.

I actually don't mind the rest of the changes.

ETA: Oops didn't notice that got posted while I was typing the other.
