Hopefully arsene already knows this but...please get Ozil some speedy players in the summer and watch the magic happen. Look at what he can do with just the ox

Damnit Suarez making shots like that out of nothing... scary
Posted on 2/16/14 at 11:42 am to tigerfan88
Can you imagine what Ozil could do with Ox on one side and Walcott on the other running at defenders? That would be a nightmare to try and defend for other teams.

THE TREBLE IS STILL ON

That would certainly be one way to end this miserable drought.

I love how Arsenal keeps getting these draws against other EPL clubs

Has anyone ever won the FA cup playing 5 EPL teams?
Posted on 2/16/14 at 12:25 pm to tigerfan88
Good question. We are really having to take the long road.

Take the schedule Wigan played last year
3rd round
played Bouremouth twice from League 1
4th round
Macclesfield Town from Conferene National (5th tier)
5th round
Huddersfield Town from The Championship
6th round
Everton
Semi final
Millwall from The Championship
So when you see the teams they played it's really no shock that they won it when you see the teams City played.
3rd round
Watford from The Championship
4th round
Stoke City
5th round
Leeds from The Championship
6th round
Barnsley from The Championship
Semi Final
Chelsea
I remember some of the American sports radio shows not understanding how a team in relegation danger could win this. They clearly had no idea how the format worked.

I honestly think our road to winning it this year could be historic, although there's a long way to go before winning it. But if we were to beat Everton, draw an in form Sunderland in the semis, and then man city in the finals??
Also, yea the Suarez should've gotten a penalty when chamberlain fouled him, but that first penalty was SOFT. Suarez was a foot inside the box and podolski touched his ankle. Kinda evens out IMO

in 2009 Everton had to play Liverpool twice, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, and Manchester United (all in the EPL) on their way to the final against Chelsea where they lost 2 to 1.

In 2007 Manchester United played all EPL teams in the FA Cup. Aston Villa, Portsmouth, Reading (twice), Middlesbrough (twice), and Watford. Lost 1-0 to Chelsea. History isn't kind to us.

weird but fun match. could've been a few more goals for both teams and a number of refereeing mistakes. sanogo played really well overall. ox too. fortunate win, probably but I'll take it. we've had some bad luck against them in the past.

These things tend to even out. We were the better team against Man U and I think you could say we were unfortunate to not win that one

Sanogo was miles better than Bendnter and looks like he can fit into the intricate passing game with some seasoning. Seems like he's a faster player than Giroud, though he is certainly clumsy.

I wonder how much of his clumsiness was nerves and trying to do too much. he was clumsy trying to pull off a couple of half volleys but pulled off the chest down half volley that led to ox's goal quite well.
his hold up play and link up play really shocked me today. I was pretty impressed. he's still very raw, but looked a lot more polished in those areas than he did in the euro u21.

Yeah he seemed to fill in nicely. He's a more athletic Giroud without the flair.

What a game.
That was the sort of match you let a neutral watch and they'll fall in love with the game. Exciting stuff.
Some thoughts:
- Ozil was brilliant. When he has runners, he's worth every penny we paid and more. The ball for the second goal was a thing of beauty.
- Ox is becoming a star. Take away the goal and the assist, and he was still fantastic. His runs with and without the ball are very intelligent. He knows when to cut in and when to get wide. Minus the should-have-been-a-penalty on Suarez, he was perfect. The fact that he can play wide right as a true winger and in the center makes him invaluable. Pumped for his future.
- Thought this was the best Arteta/Flamini looked together. They really benefit from a workhorse on a wing, like Ramsey in the CL or Ox yesterday. Allows them not to get stretched, because neither has the mobility to make up for it. Arteta opened up the field for the second goal, Flamini had some big breakups.
- Sanogo looks very promising. He had some silly moments, but his natural skill is undeniable. I hope he gets more run with Giroud in the doghouse for a bit.
- One of yous keeps bashing Lukas. I don't get it. Every time he plays, he produces something. He worked his arse off yesterday closing down space and tracking back, and his run and finish for the second goal was superb. He and Ozil work well together.
- Nothing to say about Fabianski but
Man of the Match performance out of a backup keeper.
- As for the controversy, no doubt Suarez should have had a second penalty. We were fortunate. But there were some cases for penalties on the other end as well, particularly Skrtel's high boot to Santi's foot. It's football. It happens. I'm just glad it worked out for us.
- Oh, and Steven Gerrard is a monster. Give that guy an inch and he'll drop a 60 yarder on a dime. Beautiful to watch. Liverpool are so dangerous with him on the ball and that speed on the wings getting behind a defense.

And rustiness. He was much better than I expected. Not just serviceable, but highly effective.

number of refereeing mistakes
I was reading where Arsenal have only won twice with Webb as the head ref. He could have easily screwed us. I'm glad he didn't call a pk. I swear twice their fricking keeper handled the ball outside the box and of course garrard should have been sent off. Gibbs also got horse collared at the end of the game there.
