Love it.

While I really hope this happens, Arsenal do need another striker regardless.

Do you think you can put Podolski at backup striker and have Drax as the backup LW? Or maybe Arsene wants to use Drax up top right away and kind of go through growing pains there now (can't imagine his growing pains being worse than Beowulf's efforts this season).

Draxler may not slide in anywhere right away. Be used as more of an impact sub who can spell 4 or 5 attacking positions, or as cover for 4 or 5 positions in case of injury. Long term he either converts to striker or he's cazorlas replacement

not at all likely to happen in January (and probably not in the summer, as well), but Mandzukic didn't even make the bench today because he wasn't putting forth the effort in training.

i think we could make do with waiting for a striker until the summer, no matter what happens. just nobody out there.

While we didnt look our best in spurts, you can tell this team is diff. We can easily switch it on, unlike in years past where we prob would have sweated that one out til the end. Glad to see poldi getting goals. Ive always been high on him while others are kind of meh on him. But he was an upgrade from gerv, which is what we needed. We have a real shot to get something this year.

I agree. The depth and resolve of this team is different than years past. I'm really looking forward to this run of matches in February. Going to be some exciting stuff.

Walcott did the 2-0 one against Spurs after his injury as Spurs fans were throwing shite at him.

The others are just hand signs those guys make during their goal celebrations.

well, what we all knew was happening got officially confirmed today. Our Puma deal is official. 50m pounds/yr for 5 years is the rumored amount. biggest in England. nice work, gazidis. that's close to 40m extra pounds to be available this summer (as well as the new TV revenue kicking in).

So basically we can afford a world class player every summer if we need to spend? That sounds good. I'm glad reaching 2013 meant we actually have money.

What I don't understand is how they stood for the previous deal with Nike. We had one of the worst deals in the league. Nike had to make bank considering all the American and Asian fans of Arsenal.

actually, everyone is saying 30m/yr. my mistake. a Times football tweet got it wrong. 150m total over 5 years. i'd like to use the 80-90m estimated available for this summer to get Drax, a CF, an heir to Arteta, and a young, talented CB. we'll need an RB too probably, but I'm hoping we can convince baccy to re-sign. we were strongly linked to sebastian jung this weekend.

i would guess TV5 will be sold in the summer.

nike gave us a lot of cash up front in that deal to get the stadium built. all our sponsorship deals were front-loaded. we pretty much got a payday loan. couldn't have done the emirates without it, but it certainly hindered us at the end of the deal. at least we survived it.

It's nice to have all of that money from Puma, but I just can't imagine Arsenal having kits or merchandise on the same level as Nike with them.

our home kit looks fit as hell. more skin tight than nike, but i might get one anyways (didn't look as skin tight as some of their other kits).
