The way I look at it, is that there's a difference between being hurt and injured. I think you put everything on the line no matter what and if the coach doesn't want you off then you stay on and still give it your all.

However, I'm also not a professional and my body is literally not how I make my money. So I'm totally conflicted in whether I think Fab is a pussy or not.

If it was the WC, yes, but it wasn't.

Playing through pain is one thing, put knowing your about to injure yourself worse is something else... that does no one any good.

It was a game that had a ticket to the second most important world wide soccer tournament on the line.

So Jurgen lied to disparage one of his best players? What could possibly motivate him to do that?

Don't act like the Confederations Cup can hold a candle to the World Cup.

what motivated him to frick over landon donovan?

jurgy's ego

our former best player was disrespected by jurgy (landon)

then our next, "best player" was disrespected by jurgy, leading to a time away (howard)

now our current, "best player" is having similar issues

jurgy wants to lay the law down

I can't get on board with the "it wasn't the world cup" line of thinking at all.

Qualifying (the end game) starts next month. He had just missed a month with a leg muscle injury. The last thing he needed was to miss another month after just coming back about 2 weeks ago.

If he is legit hurt that's fine. I'm OK with his decision. I'm simply saying you pretending like the game wasn't important isn't something I agree with at all.

Pretty sure that was all on Howard wanting to take a summer off. And its paid off. He's been in much better form this year than last

Yeah. Howard just wanted some time off when the USMNT didn't have anything important going on.

If we can't get out of the fourth round of CONCACAF qualifying without ONE of our better players then we don't deserve to make it anyways.

The ultimate goal for 2015 was to qualify for the Confed Cup, not win one WC qualifier that isn't even at the hexagonal yet.

If he is legit injured then fine, I understand that. Him having to leave makes perfect since But if he plays this week, he's a pussy in my mind and I could care less if he comes back if he's not willing to lay it all on the line for the USMNT and his teammates.

Like I said though, I've only played college and high school sports and I played through a ton of injuries (football) that will likely come back to bite me in the arse down the road, but I did it for my teammates and the school that I represented because I cared about them. That's the way most athletes see things and if you think otherwise then you were never serious about sports.
