I think it's a little ridiculous that everything is compared to the Landon situation. Jurgen going nuclear with the cut doesn't change that they had a history, and LD never bought into Jurgen as manager. Go back and read about the way Jurgen spoke about him when he first became manager. When LD missed a ton of his first matches as manager, Jurgen said openly that he wanted him to get healthy and playing because "we need him!" We can all agree that it went too far, but this shite where Landon was just targeted is revisionist history. You can debate all day that he shouldn't have been cut, and you'll be right. That doesn't change that he was just as active in the feud.

Howard asked for time off to focus on club play. He's already back in the rotation. I'm sure that Fabian Johnson is hurt since this is a pretty solid statement to make by a manager. That said, I still don't believe the narrative that Jurgen sent him home for coming off. People have done far worse and been critical of him and never were told to rethink their position on the team.

I don't doubt it was an ego related issue, but I still don't think the story is as one sided as the media would have you believe. Jurgen's been a Fabian fanboy for years. The complaint used to be that just being German made you a lock for the team. Maybe they had a personal falling out, but that's not the same as an injured player being called a liar and kicked off the team. One is a selfish, egotistical decision. The other is borderline psychopath behavior.

This is the reason I get frustrated with all of this, though. No one can really defend his decision at this point in any rational manner. That doesn't change that he didn't just pick on LD to target the "star". Before the sabbatical, he reached out to him multiple times to get coffee, lunch, and whatever else to discuss why LD was making comments about questioning whether he was valued on the squad or not, and LD denied him every time. He didn't cut him because he wanted to show his power. He cut him because they had history, LD avoided the attempts he made to try to work with him early on, and Jurgen said "frick this guy" and never let go of that grudge, even after Landon came back ready to play nice to be on the team. With as much bickering and beef as this board has, I know it's not a tough concept to understand.

All I'm trying to say is that there ARE reasons behind why Jurgen's done a lot of the negative shite he's done. They're just not necessarily justifiable in relation to the action that it influences. I am willing to believe that Fabian is injured. I'm willing to believe that something happened that hurt Jurgen's ego and made him much more pissed off than it should have. I just don't believe it was someone wanting to be subbed. I personally just want to know the exact play-by-play of what happened from an unbiased source. Jurgen's the only one who's really spoken about it. The rest of it is just rumors and sources who weren't actually there. At this point, someone could report he fought Fab in the locker room and kicked him out after, and everyone would believe it with smiles on their faces. If Jurgen really did lose his mind over it with literally no other reason whatsoever, he needs to get some help.

shite, am I the only person who is ultra concerned about the quality of our medical staff if they didn't check him or missed what is apparently a clear injury according to Gladbach? Jurgen clearly wasn't informed of any injury or he wouldn't still feel the way he does. That's a pretty big problem. Did they miss Aron's foot injury for the World Cup as well?
