I don't really have much of a problem with what he says but how he says it.
ETA: Dandy beat me to it.

I think everyone is in the same boat.
I have gotten over his personality.

Well, he doesn't hurt my feelings. However, he obviously is very abrasive and seems to piss off his fellow analysts no matter who they sit next to him. I swear he would piss off his own mother.

Seriously? Really?
2002, which is most recent. Talk to me.
ETA Refereeing is a very important and present component of the sport, and doesn´t diminish the quality of a team. It´s in fact, a GREAT topic of conversation, for many, many years, amongst many nations. I don´t think you´ll ever get this, but I´ll delve deeper, if you insist.

Do you remember when England and the US tied in the 2010 World Cup and Alexi's first words were "They [England] just aren't very good." I can't remember who was on the set with him, but I remember saying to myself, "Oh shite!"
It was funny to me because they say the British are the ones who are forward and unapologetic. Not when it comes to Lalas. Dude was ruffling feathers on the set.

It was Macca. They were great the whole world cup.
The best moment was the first time the put the group standings up after the Algeria match and Lalas went on and on about how beautiful it looked with the US on top.. waving his arms in the air.. rocking back and forth in his chair.

Lalas is a fricking douche but his job is to troll.
I rather listen to Lalas and Twellman over that count Eric Wynalda. Holy shite that guy is awful. AWFUL. Can't wait to listen to him and the Fox crew in 4 years

Yessir. What I´m referring to is, in Europe you can talk about sides from God knows when, and people know everything, and have no problem saying who was ´jobbed´, who got lucky, etc...... Even the fricking Germans admit it (Italians, much less, they´re like Americans, but that´s logical, as they´ve got the ´scoreboard, baby´ mentality, although many don´t ).
¨Murricans think this is a finite sport, black and white, cut and dried, look at the scoreboard.
Major casty.

I read through this whole thread full of bitching and I have no idea what it's about

Yea same here. He's smart and knows what he's talking about. I just hate how he's so condescending and almost talks down to everyone else on there if they disagree about something. And he always uses an example that is kinda similar on 1 side but not the same on the other.
And I hate how he dominates the set. He will cut off anyone and everyone. Nobody else does that either. Ruud and Ballack will sit there and patiently wait til the other person finishes talking and then give their input. You can tell it annoys Tirico because he has to sorta cut in on Lalas with something like "fair point... What do you have to say about that Ballack/Ruud?" But, when someone else is talking and Lalas cuts them off, he goes on a 7 minute rant. And the other person never got to finish talking. Disrespectful to everyone else... Especially Ballack and Ruud, who deserve way more respect than Lalas. He's so cocky too.
I just hate how he's condescending and has to control the set. There's a way to disagree with someone and not talk down to them or make it seem like what they just said was the dumbest thing else...while on national TV. And cutting them off is like a slap in the face. I would hate him too.

Lalas is insane. Not surprising that he was a major coke head at Rutgers
