This can't be the best 11 we have.
Posted on 7/7/19 at 10:15 pm to whatkindanameiskirby
It’s technically not the best 11 in America

We are missing a few starters btw, just saying. We NEED a game changing forward though.

How many of those 300 million are Mexicans who live here but hate this country and boo our anthem in the place they fled to because their own country was a war-ravaged shithole?

The good players play the sports we actually care about.

Title IX. It has crippled “lesser” men’s sports.

Two most valuable athletes in the world are soccer players.

Same can be said of wrestling. How many wrestling programs have folded over Title IX the past few decades? I imagine it's quite a few.

The dysfunctional leadership with US Soccer makes for failure.

I put this exact comment in the tactics thread and got down voted, but it's so true. fricking pathetic. have an upvote.

Yes, the best leagues in the world. Not sure what the US has to do with it.

Soccer, wrestling, gymnastics. Hell I’d kick in figure skating. The resources are heavily skewed toward women’s sports and it shows. We have to do better in recognizing how crippling title IX has become to men’s sports. Take football out of the equation and balance it from there. It is such an obvious and fair tweak to the rule, which BTW I see has its merits and there needed to be more balance toward women’s sports. They just went completely too far in the other direction as usual.

Being as big as we are (closer to 330 mil), even with all the other sports we should still be able to field a great team. And all I hear about is how college soccer is bad for development so title 9 can't be the culprit. shite, NOLA has more soccer fields than football fields so something is going right. Maybe the culprit is lifestyle with kids staying indoors and getting fat vs other sports taking all the talent.

college soccer i no where close to the answer to fixing the mens game

Well obviously it’s not. But only 1% of American parents with kids the age 13-30 care even a little about soccer. That’s the dilemma we face right now as a soccer nation.
We are so many more generations away than I ever thought. As a parent now the sad realization has hit me - we are light years away from soccer ever being relevant enough. Because baseball football and basketball have the parents attention and soccer is just an afterthought. Still

For one the talent level in college soccer is a joke compared to soccer in Europe. Elite kids in Europe are playing against other great talent and in the US you have a handful of good players playing with average to above average players so the good players development is hindered
