Galaxy needs to learn to finish a possession. So many chances.

Are you thinking of Keaton parks? He got scouted and played with Benfica (actually in Portugal) and ended up at NYCFC.

No. I’m actually talking about a kid named Kareem Shabout. He was brought over by them, placed with Leganes, then RSD Alcala.

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, how did your son get involved in the FC Dallas set up? How do their youth teams and youth development compare to other clubs in the area?

One of their teams was playing a team my son was on. The coach then inquired and asked if he would try out for different tryouts. They liked him and placed him on an ECNL team.
They are good as long as your player is elite, because their top teams get the most exposure. But they aren’t necessarily the top club in the area. Just the one with the biggest name and visibility.
Most of the huge clubs are have dozens of teams for the same age group and gender. So, really it’s just a huge money grab for normal select players. But there are plenty of mid to small size clubs that have between 1 and 3 teams for the age group and gender that can compete and are sometimes better than them.
More often than not, those teams are from communities with heavy poor Latino populations with really good coaches. They get lots of local and other sponsors and raise money in other ways to offset costs so the families can afford to play, pay for travel, training, equipment for the team, tournaments, leagues, ref fees, etc.

Hope that helps

I wonder if the downvotes for your post are for Portland, Columbus, or the football teams you mentioned

3rd game I’ve watched of the dynamo but after watching this after the EPL has given me a little perspective on the game.

Side note: when did Seattle lose Xbox as a sponsor? Thinking about picking up an older kit for my son who is an Xbox fanatic.

That’s really interesting. I live in the DFW now. Sounds like FCD needs to start poaching those Latino kids. Since y’all have experience with the FCD set up, would y’all do it again? If a kid in the area wants to play at the next level, what would you tell them to do?

Also what is the significance of ECNL? I googled it but don’t really understand it.

It just sucks for him because I'm not sure there's another winger room on the plane to Qatar.

Granted with our luck, one of Pulisic, Weah, Aaronson and Reyna will pick up an injury in October.

I still think Arriola makes the plane, especially with a 26 man roster. Morris may be the odd man out.

Has it been made official that it'll be 26 players yet?

No but the euros were so it’s been speculated the WC rosters will be too, especially with it being in the middle of the European season.
