Why did Tim take a sabbatical?

Needed a break, spend time with family, etc.

I assume Beasley will join in for the knockout round, else it would make absolutely no sense for JK to plead for him to come back only to list him on the 35 and not make the 23.

I assume we will be going with Fabs or Timmy at LB, which I'm cool with for now, but it is a little disconcerting though that we left off Garza. We need to find a consistent left back for this cycle.

Also, good news on Alvarado getting the call up. He's cap tied the second he steps on the pitch.

Don't understand the Davis and Wondo call-ups considering they have barely played for the US since Brazil. Makes absolutely no sense, but whatevs.

ETA: No Morris... god fricking dammit.

ETA: Yarbrough over Hamid? Why?

I have a feeling that we're going to rape the Gold Cup like never before.

Mexico is bringing a legit squad. I don't think it's going to be a cakewalk.

I, too, would have liked to see Morris on this team ... if nothing else, for further development.

I said earlier, don't be surprised if Brad Davis makes it into the squad for Gold Cup. He's in form and playing well. Not saying he deserved to go in over Feilhaber or anything, but I'm glad he's getting rewarded for good performances.

Davis will likely been sent back down once we get to the knockout rounds.

We should win, but Mexico and Costa Rica are two legit sides.

I see Navas on the CR roster....I thought he was hurt. That could be big depending on their back line's play although certainly Navas didn't play much for Real this year at all. I think having someone that has played consistently recently in goal could be a help....who knows.

Mesi-co...could be dangerous up front if Chich and Vela can link up...and I'm sure Giovani will be his normal bitch arse for sure.

The lack of depth at FB, No. 6, and target forward concern me.

Has Ream been playing as a LB or CH at Bolton?

We have a lot of players who can play No. 6 though. They get moved around a bit (Morales and Bradley), but I do think we have plenty of player who can slot there.

Ream plays mostly at LB for Bolton but has been used at CB and CDM for them.

Wondo scored 5 goals in the last Gold Cup and has 8 goals in MLS so far. I'm not enamored with him, but I think him more likely to score against this competition than Agudelo or Morris.
Seems like a pragmatic selection focused on winning this tournament instead of worrying about the future.

How many did he score in the knockout stage?

Basically, he's a left footed Geoff Cameron.
