Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that Angel Di Maria and Sami Khedira have asked to leave the club.

Di Maria asked to go in the summer and has rejected an offer from the club, The player has to look for a solution. If when the (transfer) market closes he's still here, he will work with us like last season and there will be no problem

After Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid played to a 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup, Atletico boss Diego Simeone lavished praise upon compatriot Angel Di Maria, who entered for Real as a 78th-minute substitute.

He called him Real's best player.

Di Maria has, of course, been the subject of rampant transfer rumours, with PSG and Manchester United linked as potential suitors for the midfielder, per the Mirror.

"The game changed with Di Maria," Simeone told AS (h/t beIN Sports). "It's logical—he's the best player they have. He's the most dominant player in pushing the play up the pitch."

As if the Madrid clashes needed to get any juicier.

Looks like the most infuriatingly inconsistent player in the world is signing for West Brom. Or maybe Malaga. Or Sevilla. Three different reports, three different clubs.

He apparently asked for 8 million EUR /year. That's 1 million more than Gareth Bale's salary

Blackburn have knocked back Hull's £12million bid for Jordan Rhodes.

Rovers manager Gary Bowyer acknowledged they had received an offer from the Tigers today, but it has now emerged the club have rejected it.

The Championship outfit are believed to be demanding £15m for Rhodes, who cost them a club-record £8m when they signed the Scotland international from Huddersfield in August 2012.

Rhodes, 24, has been in scintillating form since making the move to Ewood Park, scoring 53 goals in 99 games, and only recently signed a two-year contract extension with Blackburn.

Di Maria did not impress me much in the World cup... He played alright but I would consider him a top 15 player in the world.

Di Maria was incredible most of the season. I felt like he or Modric were MOTM in most Real games I watched. I would not put as much stock into the World Cup.

He would wreak havoc in either manure or psgs attack. ADM is a fricking stud who could be a top ten in the world, with the right situation

I normally don't like ranking players because there are so many variables that I think it is impossible to accurately rank them, but however I look at it, he is easily in the top 10 for me.

It is too hard to actually rank players in soccer because there are so many different roles and so many world class players. Just rank Ronaldo and Messi top 2 and leave at that.

When Di Maria is on, I don't know how many are better than him. At the same time, he may not be a top 3 player at his club. Regardless of where he goes, he will be massive. I used to think Ozil was the second best player on Madrid (2012-2013), but I thought both Modric and Di Maria were way better last year than Ozil was two years ago (or even this past year in London).

Ozil can be really good but overall he is super overrated. At least on this board.

Özil is one of the best passers with some of the best vision I've ever seen, but in order to be most effective he needs to be in a system tailored completely to his strengths.

Özil is beautiful to watch for his vision and just silky smooth touches.

If he's overrated it's by glossing over the criticism that he's never seemed to have a real grit about him which is why he's not as valuable in defense and pressing as some other attacking midfielders and sometimes seems to become too casual, hence peripheral in attack when the chips are down.

However, as I once posted in a thread about Pastore, who I think struggles with managers / positioning for similar reasons , I'll take the pure aesthetic pleasure on my team and enjoy it immensely.

Yeah, he's one of those guys who's worth the price of admission. It's a real joy to watch when he's orchestrating an attack.

He makes the whole team better through his movement, which is extremely intelligent. He might not always be at the center of attacks for us, but we play so much better when he's on the field. We've done a really poor job of surrounding him with runners at times, but when he does have options to pass to he is amazing.

I miss watching Ozil and Ronaldo team up. At least now there is Modric to spray passes all over and then demand it back at his feet.

There are reports coming out of Chile of a Manchester United offer for Arturo Vidal. Newspaper El Mercurio says that United have tabled a bid of around €30million with Juventus for the midfielder, plus the chance to take Javier Hernandez. However, it is reported that Juventus have no intention of accepting the proposal after making it clear all summer that they wish to keep Vidal.
