The price tag for him an Ozil last year were known to be high to start with. Madrid will not sell impact players on the cheap.
Thats why the rumors of sami khedira at 12 million seem a bit odd.
United should make a 65 million bid for them both.

Plus, Real Madrid would use him pretty regularly if he stayed, and he's under contract until 2018

All the reason why buying James was perplexing.

If the reports are true, basically an even swap for the two... I think Di maria is the better player now, but who knows in the future..
I don't know why you'd make that swap today, but for some reason... He never seemed like a fan/Perez favorite..

He's great in tight areas. Watching Real Madrid try to break teams down over the past few years has been fricking awful.
Khedira is out of contract next summer.

Ancelotti said today Khedira is going nowhere.. just posturing on his part?

i think kroos will be more impactful doing that if he is allowed to roam free. But if Madrid can use James as a true 10 and not just playing CM, well damn.

Probably not. They'd be pretty thin if he left

looks like madrid might take us to the cleaners after all

Only one way to help fix that...

Oh we're getting butt raped but I ain't even worried about it. We need some energy and quality in the squad. Tom Clevs sees the field again I'm gonna die.
Still need AT THE VERY LEAST a CB and another CM.

yea those figures are not even close
sky reporting £64m
Is he going to play wingback or cm? How the frick does he fit in a 3-5-2?
He's a massive player but that money should be spent first and foremost on a top, top CB (probably 2) and a CM.

That remains to be seen. We are all interested to see as well
If you watched our game today you would see that amongst plenty of other things (CBs and CM like you mentioned) we REALLY were lacking a spark on the field. He definitely provides that as well as more quality going forward. Puts in a defensive shift as well. I'm interested to see how LvG gets a lot of these players on the field at the same time.
But seriously, really need CBs and CMs now.

He didn't play bad in midfield with Madrid, but let's be honest, if LVG sticks with the 3-5-2 and plays him at CM, I don't see how that would work out unless he's paired with a destroyer type CDM that can break up play and the backline is much more solid.
I just don't see how him, Mata, Rooney, and RvP are all gonna be able to get on the field at the same time without someone playing out of position and being a little upset.

No I understand. I watched last week and the first half of yesterday's game (started at midnight here).
Don't doubt y'all could seriously use a player of his quality. But there are bigger holes that I see that may now just be filled with stopgap players.
Don't really have a big opinion on this one. He's a great player, but I would have thought a top CB would come in first. Maybe they have one lined up.

Or, you know, LvG can play a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 and try to get the most out of his players that way. It might even force him to play that LB he spent 32 million pounds on.

Oh shite, you're right.
Who would play RB for y'all? Valencia? Is one of those Brazilian twins still around?

Thing is, 3-5-2 is probably the best formation for the players they currently have. The only part of the team arguably weaker than the CBs are the CMs.
The defense just look so chaotic to me. And as a Liverpool fan, I am more than qualified to identify chaos in a defense. Everytime Sunderland drove forward it seemed like someone was making a mistake, defenders were scrambling around, awful back passes were being made, etc.

And their personnel (granted a lot are hurt) has played a huge deal. Their wing back play has to be better and the CM's have to be much better to control the middle of the field. That and I think they could use a good, experienced CB to help organize and settle the backline.
