According to reports in Italy, Bayern Munich have pulled out of the race to sign Mehdi Benatia due to Roma's demands for the defender. Roma reportedly want between €30m (£24m) and €35m (£28m) for the Morocco international. Manchester United are now seemingly the only club interested in Benatia, although reports claim the centre-half is hoping Chelsea will make an offer.
Seems Benatia may be close to renewing his contract with AS Roma according to most sources other than the English media. Reported new deal will double his salary but not have a buyout clause.

Sad to say, but it's true. Moyes decided he figured into his future plans and signed him to a new five-year deal at the start of last season on 120k pounds/week.

Bayern needs to make a deal. Seems like they have the sights set on Diego Godin.

Barcelona's appeal of their transfer ban was denied. Ban upheld for 2 windows.

I still won't be surprised if Benatia ends up being sold to Bayern.
I posted this in the Roma season thread a week or so ago but I think Roma will sell if Bayern meets their price but only if/when Roma has the 2/3 guys they want to bring in with that money lined up.
Roma's DS Sabatini and the VP of the club just flew back to London again so there's definitely some unfinished business.

Looks like I was right and Mackay's going to be named the new Palace manager

Sky sources understand Malky Mackay will not now be appointed as manager of Crystal Palace.
Mackay interviewed for the role along with former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood at the weekend and was thought to have impressed chairman Steve Parish.

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has admitted to rejecting a lucrative offer to join Manchester United.
The Germany international, who tasted World Cup glory in Brazil over the summer, is reported to have been identified as a top target by Louis van Gaal after he inherited the managerial reins at Old Trafford.
An approach was made, with United eager to bring world-class talent into their ranks as they seek a reversal in fortune.
Muller admits a move would have been of financial benefit to him, with the money on offer ‘astronomical’.
He has, however, taken a decision he believes will be of greater benefit to his long-term career, with the 24-year-old happy and settled at Bayern.

and "sources" at ManU have said they never made any offers.
if it wasn't ManU it'd be sad. instead, it's hilarious.

Actually, sounds like he turned them down, probably for the same reason Pulis left.

well actually...the reason why he won't be manager doesn't change the fact you were wrong about him being their next manager
