I can't think of a valid reason for traveling to anywhere in Africa. It's a continent of failure, soon to be failure, disease, unrest, and death.

If you want to do the African safari thing, there are much safer and nicer alternatives.
Granted, maybe not for gorillas. But elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras...yeah, much better alternatives.

I am not going to Uganda, but It is beautiful, generally peaceful, and massively exotic. Some people like Gulf Shores or Europe to vacation, and others want an adventure such as Africa.
