If another country is build a threat to the civilian population of America and it becomes quite clear they will use it, I guarantee you America can and will stop it.

They won’t, nor should they.

You know what WILL happen? Our nerds will move to other countries where they can develop these projects.

We will be bereft of not only the technological advancements but of high quality nerds too.

I'm a programmer with almost 30 years of experience.

I can use AI and get things that use to take me weeks or maybe months in hours or a few days. And most of that time for me is just waiting, so I do other crap while it works.

Axe vs Chainsaw.

I have AI research workers. That is all they do, research. Staying up to date on certain information and changing existing knowledge as it changes. This would have taken many college educated humans in the past. I spend less than $20 a month on them, although getting the base research was a little more expensive - still less than $1000.

In short: Productivity.

Now, apply that when it comes to things regarding national security. Information that would have taken hundreds of thousands of people to process and organize can be done much faster, cleaner and cheaper. Or a cyber attack by an AI. You need your own AI to defend that. The speed in which things are moving are just so much greater.

And on and on. It's all about a HUGE jump in productivity.
