Idk why I owe someone who didn’t vote an explanation for him to say that isn’t good enough. I’m not wasting my time but I’ll call out the hypocrisy that the guy who didn’t vote shouldn’t be worried.

It's too bad ol Gene is so shittty at spelling and the use of the English language. Makes his hysterical epithets ring hollow.

Nah, they're also here to spy. School just facilitates that.

My thoughts are that I am fine with legal immigration. If this falls under that, then cool.
That being said, colleges like UCLA, USC, etc are full of Asians only here for school. They aren't going to stay as their family is usually wealthy and only sends their kids here for school then makes them come back home to help the family.
We should stop educating other countrys children and then allowing them to take that knowledge back with them. Especially those from China.
To me, if a student comes here to study on a visa and graduates, they've had to show a ton of I.D., some drive and initiative to graduate in their field and they've shown to not be a problem from a criminal perspective, why wouldn't we want to keep more productive, educated people in our society/economy?

Until the liberal and marxist professors are removed from colleges everywhere in America, no one gets a green card.

Don't like that. Nope. I know alot of people with degrees that are lazy, stupid, losers. Don't get me wrong, I'm a stupid loser, but at least I'm not lazy.

I’d add some of the Middle East too.
It should not be an automatic green card no matter what though.
There should still be an application process. Attending Alabama State isn’t that.

To make sure I understand this correctly, is he referencing people who come on legitimate student visas and desire to remain in the country/part of our economy upon graduation?
Yup,
It makes sense that those here on a student Visa should not lose the Visa once they graduate.
We already let them in, but we decided to make them reapply to stay and work here post graduation.
I wouldn't read more into it than that.

Wouldn't that be redundant though? Many of the items needed to apply and secure a green card would have already been provided to get the student visa such as I.D., background check, medical history, etc. If we already let them in to study and have taken all the required items to during the SV application, why should we then make them do it all over again and produce the same documentation we deemed permissible in the first place? The only thing different now is they have a college degree to add to their qualifications.
On top of that, we have a history of their productivity in our country. A student visa can be revoked on grounds of criminal, medical or financial grounds. If they managed to keep their visa through good academic performance and not getting into trouble, why should we let the kids we educated and invested in leave to produce in other economies?

Truly. Its a statement juxtaposed to our current legal immigration system.
Chain migration where you become nationalized and then sponsor people. So you take a barely literate person with little education, they become a citizen and through chain migration they bring in all their illiterate parents, aunts and uncles, who dont speak english, and are sick, to the US.
He first made statements about this 20 years ago. Rather than the aforementioned, wouldnt you rather have a college educated person. Or would you continue to educate these people so they can go home and compete against you in business.
I would like to see student visas to china cut waaayyyy back.

We need to be educating American citizens NOT Illegal Immigrants, Migrants, Foreigners here on Visa’s etc.
It is fricking stupid to offer citizenship for a degree when colleges just pass everyone these days.

He’s always said they aren’t sending their best and brightest. Meaning, he wants to low lifes to stay and the smart people to come. A merit based system.
Why are people surprised by this?

Yes. I just think more control should be exerted that a blanket green card.
Not sure we need a Chinese African America studies grad here that just graduated from SE Hawaii State.

What controls would you like to see other than the one already in place?

If we are going to allow student visas shouldn't we want those people to stay?
If not, what's the reason we want student visas?

First of all, illegal immigrants and people of student visas are not remotely the same thing. You’d reject a brilliant doctor or engineer simply because they immigrated here legally?

Are you aware field of study is taken into account during the visa process? They’re not just giving out visas for people to study basket weaving.

Collages and Universities want them for the money and high tuition costs they pay. We don’t ‘need’ them here.
