Yang concedes the NYC Mayoral election

“I am conceding this race,” says @AndrewYang before Ranked Choice Votes are even tallied. Yang had an even worse than expected showing in the first round with less than 13% of the vote.
New York deserves whatever it’s getting at this point. He had a rational solution for the homeless problem and he was denounced as a racist for it. Sad for New York, but they’re going to vote in another mayor who is just slightly less scummy than DeBlasio. Great job New York voters. Hope y’all reelect that serial killer as your Governor at this point. You had the opportunity to change, and you fricked it up.

Did you really think Yang was a viable solution?
Posted on 6/22/21 at 9:59 pm to OMLandshark
Yang was weak on crime and pandered too much to the wokes like a beta male.
Poor minorities want someone who's tough on crime and will give them more police and law and order and that's why Eric Adams is leading now.

Like choosing if you'd rather have gonorrhea or syphilis or chlamydia.

I mean, he had a really, really good point. He said in his campaign that DeBlasio deliberately downsized the psych beds by 15% last year alone, and he vowed to increase the psych beds by over 100% in his first year to get the mentally ill off the streets and get them the help they need. That alone would secure my vote if I lived in NYC. But no he was a racist and against the mentally ill for providing a solution that was at least worth a try. NYC deserves whatever it’s getting now.

Certainly more than anyone running against him. Severely increasing the psych beds was worth a try when DeBlasio deliberately decimated them.

I'd be more than happy to give Manhattan back to the Indians for a few pairs of beads and some smallpox-covered blankets at this point.

NYC needs someone who will be tough on crime, not cower to the defund the police mob. Thats why Adams is ahead

Eric Adams is a retired police officer who ran on anti-crime following the madness NYC has seen over the past year. He’s a black man who said the following:
If I lived there and had to choose from one of those candidates, Adams would have been my choice. NYC has to attack crime and it needs to be the #1 priority.
quote:
In 1999, Adams said on race in policing: "Lying is at the root of our training. At the academy, recruits are told that they should not see black or brown people as different, but we all do. We all know that the majority of people arrested for predatory crimes are African-American. We didn't create that scenario, but we have to police in that scenario. So we need to be honest and talk about it."[20]

It’s hard to fathom that they actually had someone like Giuliani in that spot just 20 years ago.

I would have visited Giuliani's New York. Now, not so much.
Just another shite city run by "progressives" in a shite state run by "progressives".
I feel for the conservatives outside the NYC & Chicago shite holes that dictates the administration of their states. All the others can drown in the cesspool of their own making.

Interesting note I found in an article on Yang:
So given a choice the Black and Hispanic communities aren't choosing the black woman or the Hispanic one, they are choosing the hardass ex cop who is promising law and order. It's the white liberals who want the city to burn.
quote:
Very clear political battle lines tonight. Adams won Black and Hispanic voters in the outer boroughs. Wiley won Brooklyn/Queens hipsters. Garcia won Manhattan elites. And Yang won Asian and Orthodox Jewish/ethnic white areas of Brooklyn.
