Wrong. The US Navy has the capability (technologically and personnel wise) to control every body of water but completely lacks the leadership to do so.
From the political leadership to the SecNav to the flag officers there isn’t 2 ounces of grit to lead right now. They are much more concerned with proper pronouns and the environment than containing freedom’s existential threats.

The U.S., at its root core is resilient, and is wholly capable of sustaining itself without imports. And yet we’ve let our industrial infrastructure die while funding it for our enemies, we’re selling farmland to the Chinese and Bill Gates while watching the rest slowly get turned into dying shopping centers, we’ve allowed China to suck up our coal, oil and other natural resources while obliterating our own energy industry in favor of batteries which rely on third world slave labor overseas. Our military has gone from a fighting force to a political one, our population is ideologically divided, our leaders are corrupt, our media is owned by a handful of international corporations. We’re a long way from the post world war America you’re referencing.

1923: we were 5 years removed from WWI, 6 years from the stock market crash that marked the beginning of the Great Depression, and riding out prohibition.
Lennin stroked out, the Ottoman Empire officially ended, Hitler was arrested for his role in the Beer Hall Putsch, and hyperinflation hit the Weimar Republic.
Seems like a rather ominous threat.
