Do they NEED a special carve out to deny visas to harvesters/traffickers?
I thought approving/denying visas- for whatever reasons- was already under the purview of the SoS?
quote:
Sanctions:
Authorizes the U.S. government to sanction individuals and entities involved in forced organ harvesting—including visa bans and asset freezes.
Export Controls:
Prohibits the export of medical devices or equipment from the U.S. that could be used in forced organ transplants.
Mandatory Reporting:
Requires the State Department to report annually on organ harvesting practices worldwide, especially in countries of concern like China.
Global Human Rights Focus:
Reinforces the U.S. commitment to fighting organ trafficking and protecting religious and ethnic minorities.

International Response:
Other countries, like Canada, the UK, and Australia, have also introduced or passed resolutions and laws condemning or restricting participation in organ tourism involving unethical sourcing.
The European Parliament passed resolutions condemning forced organ harvesting, especially targeting alleged abuses against Uyghurs and Falun Gong practitioners.

Summary:
The Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023 is the most prominent and comprehensive U.S. law to combat organ trafficking, with a particular focus on abuses in China. It combines sanctions, export controls, and global advocacy.
So tell us, why are you pro forced organ harvesting?

Contrarian douche bag that thinks he's smarter and more "principled" than everyone else.
Come to think of it, maybe SFP really is a "Libertarian."

There are already 213 Democrats in the House. You want more Reps to vote with them?

Don't be dense.
If people are doing such things and are subject to our jurisdiction, then prosecute. If people doing such things are NOT subject to our jurisdiction, don't let them in our country.
I'm pretty sure it worked, or could have worked, that way without this bill.

Really. Okay.

If the bill is just for grandstanding, don’t sign on to it. If it orders the president to apply economic pressure through sanctions and tariffs to force policy changes, then vote for it. I would bet a bill like the latter would not pass the House.
Hey, how about codifying DOGE cuts and EOs? What about passing a rescissions bill?

Feel the way he wants, why vote against it?
Just don’t vote.
Terrible look.

Bill would authorize the Secretary of State to deny U.S. passports and visitor visas to people involved in organ trafficking circles.
Oh no, the horror!! This will certainly stop the Chinese government from harvesting organs

Why do you support virtue signaling?
When your entire online persona is weaponized contrarianism with a pinch of lawfare prostitution, everything opposite to that is virtue signaling by default.
I’m sure a contrarian retort isn’t incoming

The full text of the bill isnt even available and it just expands on the 2023 one.
Which I posted.
I would say you are being dense here arguing against something you know nothing about.
Oh, and massie voted against the 2023 one too.
If you don't want to be accused of being pro organ trafficking, don't argue against a bill that's goal is to stop trafficking for organ harvesting.
Again, this passed in 2023.
quote:
Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2023 (H.R.1154 / S.761)
Introduced by: Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) in the House and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) in the Senate.
Status: Passed the House on March 27, 2023, with a bipartisan vote of 413–2; referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Key Provisions:
Sanctions: Mandates the President to impose property- and visa-blocking sanctions on individuals and entities involved in forced organ harvesting or trafficking.
Passport Revocation: Authorizes the State Department to deny or revoke passports of individuals convicted of certain organ trafficking offenses involving international travel.
Reporting Requirements: Requires the State Department to report on forced organ harvesting and trafficking practices in foreign countries.
Penalties: Establishes civil penalties up to $250,000 and criminal penalties up to $1 million and 20 years imprisonment for violations.
Massie voted against this.
So Sally, why are you pro organ harvesting?

The primary reason that the House has not passed those bills is specifically because of Massie and the Democrats. They are absolute NO votes on those bills.

What's the burden of proof required that someone is involved in organized organ trafficking? If someone WAS involved stateside, wouldn't they be prosecuted anyway?
You think we just go around labeling people as "organ harvesters?"

The republicans have more than a one vote majority. Johnson is part of the problem. Why didn’t Pelosi have this problem?

Virtue signaling is exactly what Massie is doing. I don't like hypocrites.
Plus, the trade deals coming in that better position America make him and Rand look like fools.

It's almost like he has some set of principles that he uses to make his decisions.
It's crazy that he doesn't vote like his other tribal sheep.
