I wasn't aware Isaias was a major ordeal, but rather a minor non-event.

It knocked down some trees in NY.

Obviously a sign that science is settled and the world is ending in 9 years due to man made climate change.

Is the hurricane’s name a play on the word Isis?

It's a pretty typical reaction by the press anytime a hurricane hits anywhere anywhere north of South Carolina. When the northeast is affected by anything, these journalists think everyone should have sympathy for them.

Residents on the news complaining power still out after 3 days! We lost power after Katrina and again Gustave for 2 weeks! One woman said the "they should have been prepared." I guess she wanted all the trees cut down in advance. You can tell they do not have many hurricanes there.

We were w/o power for two weeks after Andrew, and our camp in Folsom didn't have power until November, post Katrina.

Some people seem to think that the world revolves around their little vicinity and that they are all that matters.

It's a big deal to them since nothing has made landfall since Sandy in 2012 and Black Jesus was handed the election because he took a walk with Chris Christie.

Looking at the way the storm is portrayed , it's crashing against the southern border.

It may be that the cartoonist is trying to imply that illegal immigrants are a 'storm' crashing into the USA.

I find it a ridiculous reach as the 'storm' was barely a level 1 hurricane.

Some messages land better than others, I suppose.

Maybe your elected officials should let out of state linesmen and crews come in...oh wait...Covid and shite.

I hope they have a heat wave right about now.

There were a few deaths from a twister and a family missing but nothing like Florence. It was like a regular bad day of storms here.

Pretty much this.

Ivan and a lot of other storms hurricanes knocked the shite out of BR and didn’t get a footnote outside of the regions.

But a storm at 1/4 the intensity that affects NYC in some way is a worldwide event.

I was in Pensacola a year after Ivan; Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key still looked like a war zone. The only thing I've seen worse was St. Bernard Parish a year after Katrina.
