Oh well if that’s on their uniforms (if accurate and not eagerly avoiding necessary context, a bad habit seen around here), then heck they must’ve already expanded. Somebody’s gonna have to school me on which all countries are now named Israel? Or “Greater Israel?”

Yeah no one in their right mind would equate a limited protective buffer zone with “Israel seeking to expand (its borders)” as per the claim y’all are awkwardly trying out.

They themselves support Greater Israel. And I would not care at all except for the fact that we are part of the equation.

Netanyahu says he’s on a ‘historic and spiritual mission,’ also feels a connection to vision of Greater Israel

quote:

The interviewer Sharon Gal, who was briefly a right-wing member of Knesset, gifts to Netanyahu near the end of their interview what he says is an amulet of “a map of the Promised Land.”

“This is my vision,” says Gal. He jokes that he does not want to further “entangle” Netanyahu in the case against the premier for allegedly receiving jewelry and other luxury goods from several businessmen for him and his wife Sara, but also says he would like Netanyahu to give the amulet to Sara. “Thank you,” says Netanyahu.

“Do you connect to the vision?” Gal asks Netanyahu.

“Very much,” the prime minister replies.

“Really?” asks Gal.

“Very much,” Netanyahu repeats.

“It is Greater Israel,” Gal stresses.

“If you ask me, we are here,” responds Netanyahu, then pauses, then continues, “You know I often mention my father. My parents’ generation had to establish the state. And our generation, my generation, has to guarantee its continued existence. And I see that as a great mission.” He then moves on to discuss the sense of mission among Israelis today, highlighting that sense of purpose among soldiers, including reservists and their wives.

You haven’t made any points of your own. Only hitching wagon to other people’s low level, mindless points. You’re not exactly in the “point” driver’s seat.

Wonder where they get food fuel water electricity in this super secret base?

Food and fuel would be flown in. Water probably from a well. Electricity from a generator.

I do not support a single penny going toward Israel’s wars. Dead American service members and inflating our currency is all it has resulted in. What did we gain in Iraq/Afghanistan?

Must’ve missed this, but enjoy the purchasing power the USD has now after the endless wars we have fought for them

Cool. Please come back when you have a package to sell involving Israel expanding its international borders by way of ending the sovereignty of other countries and annexing them as new lands of Israel. Something normal people wouldn’t laugh out of the room when presented, such as the massive stretches y’all have attempted so far.

We were discussing Greater Israel, you commented about the “secret base” in Iraq. I responded unknown regarding that, but I can look at history and see they are consistently expanding their borders including Iraq

The thread title should tip you off

Unless it was started to yammer on about greater Israel.

Then carry on.

I have a hard time understanding what the big deal is here.

We set up a "temporary forward base" with an airstrip and fought off encroaching IRGC for a day in Iran, doesn't mean we wanted to expand into the country and take over. I didn't read the WSJ article as I refuse to give that rag clicks, but isn't that essentially what Israel was doing in Iraq? Staging a forward temporary base?

It's what every military has done throughout history when at war away from their shores. We have PERMANENT bases everywhere and aren't trying to take over

I’ve been to Auschwitz. I’m not Jewish, but even I said “Never again.” Then I did 6 months TDY with the IDF. The average Israeli only wants to live and let live. I’m just fine with that.

Like I commented earlier, this isn’t Anti-Semitism it’s Anti-Zionism.

I don’t have a problem supporting Jews and wanting them to live peaceful lives, I have a problem with the US funneling American tax dollars to support Israeli expansion and war while neglecting its own American citizens.

Our national interests are not aligned, but some here believe in unconditional support. They’ve been a country for 70+ years, America wasn’t being propped up like Israel has been and we did just fine
