Adding to the pressure, David Pecker, the chairman of American Media Inc., which publishes the National Enquirer, provided prosecutors with details about payments Mr. Cohen arranged with women who alleged sexual encounters with President Trump, including Mr. Trump’s knowledge of the deals.

LINK

As was noted yesterday, the Prosecutors and Judge wouldn't let Cohen plea to crimes that they didn't believe were committed.

They also have corroborating evidence that the crime was committed and that Trump knew about it. They also likely have evidence that Trump directed it, because that is what Cohen admitted.

Is there a tape?

Are there documents verifiably signed by Trump?

Because until at least one of these things is produced, I’m from Missouri...you’re gonna have to Show Me.

What crime? It's already been established (even the former head of the FEC agrees) that this doesn't violate campaign finance regulations. Trump may or may not have lied to a reporter about his knowledge of it, but that's not a crime either.

We've already heard the tape of Cohen and Trump discussing the Playboy model. So we know he knew of the financial arrangement weeks before the election.

I agree, we should all see the documents to make a full decision, but the documents convinced a judge in a court of law that the crimes were committed. We're a nation of laws, so that means something, right?

Here are the crimes you are asking about:

quote:

The Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended, Title 52, United States Code, Section 30101, et seq., (the “Election Act”), regulates the influence of money on politics. At all relevant times, the Election Act set certain limitations and prohibitions, among them: (a) individual contributions to any presidential candidate, including expenditures coordinated with a candidate or his political committee, were limited to $2,700 per election, and presidential candidates and their committees were prohibited from accepting contributions from individuals in excess of this limit; and (b) Corporations were prohibited from making contributions directly to presidential candidates, including expenditures coordinated with candidates or their committees, and candidates were prohibited from accepting corporate contributions.

Plausible deniability. Until concrete evidence comes to light, all this is gonna be is he said she said.

Again, the courts aren't just taking people's word on this. They have corroborating documents.

How is it a crime when he's been paying off women to stay silent about their sexual encounters since the 70s?

There is a clear pattern of behavior here going back over 40 years. You can't prove he paid Stormy Daniels to keep silent just because he was running for President.

Dr. Raymond Stantz: Everything was fine with our system until the power grid was shut off by dickless here.
Walter Peck: They caused an explosion!
Mayor: Is this true?
Dr. Peter Venkman: Yes it's true.
[pause]
Dr. Peter Venkman: This man has no dick.
Walter Peck: Jeez!
[Charges at Venkman]
Mayor: Break it up! Hey, break this up! Break it up!
Walter Peck: All right, all right, all right!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Well, that's what I heard!

COHEN caused and made the payments described herein in order to influence the 2016 presidential election. In so doing, he coordinated with one or more members of the campaign, including through meetings and phone calls, about the fact, nature, and timing of the payments. As a result of the payments solicited and made by COHEN, neither Woman-1 nor Woman-2 spoke to the press prior to the election.

That's how it is a crime.

This validates the correct understanding that the press chooses who and what they "report" about to create "news"; freedom to put any product out there to sell their advertising rates. Thank you!
