Write this in ink--Trump's renegotiated NAFTA will not pass congress

Politico
Democrats, whose votes Trump needs to pass the deal in the House, say they want to see stronger protections against pollution and climate change, improved labor standards in Mexico and certainty that the U.S. will regain jobs lost to Mexico. And they want assurances the deal can be enforced.
Meanwhile, a group of 40 Republicans is protesting new protections for LGBT workers that Canada insisted on, potentially imperiling some GOP support.
If he’s blocked in Congress, Trump will be facing a major setback on an issue where he’s already been claiming credit for delivering on a campaign promise. He’ll be left with the unattractive choices of leaving NAFTA in place, heading back to the negotiating table, or pulling out of the deal entirely, as he’s repeatedly threatened.
Trump needs 218 votes to get the deal through the House. The latest midterm results show the GOP with only 198 House members next year, with six races still undecided. And now even some Republicans are threatening to defect. Forty lawmakers sent a letter to Trump on Friday protesting new protections for LGBT workers, which were included at Canada’s request.
In my opinion, if they force Trump's hand his best course of action is to pull completely out of NAFA and let those muckrakers who forced his hand with the re-negotiation feel the economic wrath of their opposition from their constituents.

This would be the most laughable statement in history considering democrats have simultaneously sent millions of jobs to Mexico while importing millions of Mexicans to take American jobs, alas the very low IQ dem sheeple have the memory of a goldfish. They will lap it up.

If it's a good overall deal sometimes you have to hold your nose and compromise

What are the proposed new protections for pollution and climate change ( ) for Mexico?
What are the proposed new LBGT protections from Canada?

This is the correct and rational thing to do for the United States but an incorrect and irrational thing for a majority of the House of Representatives which is much further to the left that at any time in US history. The Democrats will not sign off on this no matter how good it is for the US because they want it to implode and hurt the economy and Trump so they can use it for the political advantage in the 2020 Presidential race.

This could have been settled 3 or 4 months ago but for the steel tariffs.

So obviously trying to get this passed before 1/1 is off the table?
God Republicans are useless

Oh well. I we’ll have to pull out of NAFTA if USMCA is not approved.

treaties are ratified by the senate not the house.

The NAFTA revision is under the Fast-track Trade Promotion Authority meaning that any final agreement is still subject to a majority vote in both chambers of Congress.

The same idiots embracing trade with human rights abusers and worlds worst polluters, now want to put riders on USMCA, are these clowns serious???
So Trump does all the heavy lifting for months, serves it up on a platter, and the libs say, I wanted Grey Poupon, not mustard, take it back????

It is simply fact that the Mexicans and the Canadians were willing to sign the deals less the steel protectionism Ross insists on.
I agree with Paul on NAFTA and this deal---it is not free trade. It is just a big ole document full of protectionism for the loudest contingencies in all three countries.

The pugs will fall in line but the democrats are going to look stupid if they keep resisting. I don’t think they care as long as they can spin the narrative with a complacent media.. Trump can get a big win if he control the narrative with the reality and proof that he’s bring back the manufacturing jobs, it’ll be a hard sell with the media but facts speak for themselves

By changing our laws to appease cuck Canadians?

Trump and the democrats believe we should be punished to save US union jobs in steel and car making. These tariffs may never disappear with a democrat controlled House.
