In order to understand a conflict, and which "side" to support (if any), you have to understand the motivations of each combatant (even in an invasion such as this).
Certainly, Russia is a aggressor/invader; however, in the early 2000s, the US was under the guise of pre-emptive action in the War on Terror (a concept that I supported/support [I just thought Iraq should have been at the bottom of the list]).
In this case, Ukrainian sovereignty outweighs Russia's security concerns.
Many (including myself) find the sabre-rattling by Dems (and some RINOS) over the sovereignty of Ukraine's borders laughable considering the intentional neglect of our own (and the obstacles presented to Trump while defending them) by those same persons.

Putin does love his Mother Russia and the People. He won't open the Border in order to "fundamentally change" Russia's Racial makeup or Culture. The Left in our Nation are doing exactly that. Therein, a lot of us here who view the Left as an existential threat from with our Nation (Trump said as much last night in his Speech), admire Putin's ruthless loyalty to His Nation, over that of the Democratic Left in our own.
Both Putin and the Dems would destroy our Constitutional Republic if they could. We'll see if either of their strategy to take down our CR works. IMO, when push comes to shove, the Patriots in our Nation do what the Ukrainian Patriots are doing...fighting for their sovereignty and freedom from Fascist rule.
Putin is losing it and painting himself into a corner. He's becoming a real danger. Power corrupts. His own citizenry should take him out. Let's hope that our own citizenry votes the corrupt Dems out, lest we end up like Ukraine.
