10% of $275 is still a nice windfall. After the lawyers take their 40% Sandmann walks away with $16.5 million.

Now time to cut a deal with WaPo and NBC.

Sandmann and his family will never have to work another day in their lives.

He didn't.Although not quite the same,I think Richard Jewell probably got close to $2 million
from ABC,NBC and CNN combined.

I would have said between 15%-17%

But 10% is still a big payday when the original amount was 275.

Even though he sold it, it is a damned shame that Ted Turner isn't lucid enough to see this happening to his baby.

Suit was for $275 million. I am betting he is closer to $100 million, than $10 million.

This really is going to put the squeeze on WaPo ($250) and NBCUniversal ($275). They will either have to settle for even more or see the whole process through. Huge gamble on their part considering CNN just filled Nick's warchest.

Edit to add that happy millionaire's grin

It's notable that discovery was to commence today, 1/7, but the plaintiff indicated in the Joint Scheduling plan he didn't expect to conduct many depositions and that most of the discovery consisted of information out there in the public space. CNN didn't want any depos.

I'd guess something north of 1 mil but south of 10, but who the hell knows?

I feel like if he had gone to trial, he could have won significantly more than $10M. I wouldn't have settled for $10M, but I'm a tax lawyer and don't really know much about these things

He can purchase a nice chunk of Native American land with that.

Sandmann is a native American. He was born here.

He is just as much a native as that snaggle-toothed racist, descendant of Siberian immigrants.

He settled for more money than you’ve made in your life I would wager.
