America is not an evil nation.

American government is corrupt. As are American elites atop many, if not most, sectors of society - political, financial, corporate, cultural, academic.

But the American people as a whole are generally the same.

What's coming is a dethroning of those elites, who don't represent the values of the people. Their corruption is manifest and it is unwelcome, and it's only a matter of time before the price for it is paid.

It's like Charles Krauthammer said. What cannot continue will not continue. And John Podesta, Ibram X. Kendi, Lady Gaga and Bill Gates cannot continue.

The majority of the American people are good people who just want to live well and get along. The 10% who are losers and bums are enabled by the 1% who try to stir up chaos in order to maintain power.

Indeed he did. He did the gritty hard work that was necessary to eliminate communism in a time when no one else was willing to do it.

Also, Someone told me a long time ago that Pinochet should've followed Fransisco Franco's example and established a monarchy for Chile to stabilize the country and help make sure Communism cannot come back. At the time, I thought he was dumb and being fantastical.

But I've been studying world history as a whole lately, and I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that the average monarchy is more stable than the average republic.

Take a look at the arab mideast. The monarchies there are more prosperous and stable than the republics where there is so much chaos and corruption.

but the CIA is very evil

Perhaps they are now but they were the front line foot soldiers during the cold war and within the context of fighting Soviet expansion and communism,it can be argued they did what was necessary against a barbaric and ruthless enemy.

They have put some of the worst Dictators into power

Complete nonsense.

quote:

Go ask the Chileans about Pinnochet, a hand picked CIA dictator.

Looks like someone got their history from the back of a MSNBC bubblegum card.

Allende was a committed Marxist who barely won a plurality of the popular vote and the election was then decided by the Chilean legislature who did in fact declare him President PROVIDED he live up to the statue of Constitutional Guarantees" which he never attempted to do.

quote:

Allende's presidency was eventually ratified, after he agreed to sign a "Statute of Constitutional Guarantees", promising not to undermine the Chilean Constitution.

quote:

Mr. Allende narrowly won the presidency with 36 percent of a three-way vote and the confirmation of a fair-minded congress after committing himself to a Statute of Guarantees of individual liberties. This was a mere tactical ploy (as he told the French communist writer Regis Debray), which he never intended to honor. Instead, he used every device to subvert the Chilean Constitution, negate the law or bypass the congress.

Mr. Allende resorted 32 times in respect of 93 measures to an emergency power permitting him to override congress and the courts. All but one Chilean bank was acquired by the state through share-buyouts, using misappropriated revenues; factories were requisitioned through misuse of administrative decrees; and farms were expropriated, often at gunpoint,

Let's not forget Pinochet's new constitution was overwhelmingly approved by the electorate in 1980.
He also voluntarily left office after losing the 1988 election.

His economic reforms also made Chile a booming economy in the 80's and 90's

There have been far,far worse autocrats and "dictators" than Pinochet

With that said as bad as some of our history is what’s going on today is a whole different level of bad behavior, it’s evil.

What we’ve witnessed the past 5 years is truly disheartening if not shocking for a country that wants to claim to be a righteous and just nation. FISA Gate, Trump/Russia collusion, Biden Crime Family selling political influence, Clinton Email Scandal, Fast and Furious, Lois Lerner IRS Scandal, Benghazi, etc. But I think the past 16 months since the Covid19 pandemic began is a case study in the fall of America.

What? None of that is remotely as bad as a century of Jim Crow. THAT was evil.

America is not evil. But I do salute you recognizing the hagiography we were all force fed.

Ive been all over the world and, for the most part, America is viewed with admiration. Most of the world sees us as a "Chad" country. Lots of haters, but they all want to be us. Many people see the US as a beacon of opportunity, an escape from insane and oppressive governments, and a place where anyone can succeed. And they are right. America is the LEAST racist nation on the planet, and in its historical form, offers unlimited possibilities for literally any talented human who works hard.

The left is killing that vision.

I don't believe we have been legitimately re-electing these evil people for quite sometime now. The elections of 2018 and 2020 have solidified this belief for me.

It really isn't more stable, as human governance isn't very stable. The advantages of monarchy disappeared when you saw more population growth and population movement to the cities, as what monarchies could do well was balance different interests through the institution, but they could not deal with the degree of change that Europe saw from industrialization onward. European monarchies also could not effectively deal with the rise of nationalism after Westphalia. Monarchies elsewhere were either controlled by colonial interests, which doesn't necessarily indicate stability either.

This is an amazing sentence. The actual politics of the monarchies in the region are not by any means stable. It is the region of the world where the politics are the most cutthroat. There have been plenty of coup attempts in those monarchies too, just in the last few years. And there's plenty of corruption there too. You have to be willfully ignoring the entire picture to come away with the conclusion that the region's monarchies are corruption-free.

Yes!

Since January 22, 1973 America has engaged in genocide. Every year our government subsidizes a quasi-government agency (Planned Parenthood) engaged in the business of killing babies on a massive scale.

Furthermore, Democrat leaders today are determined to scrap the U.S.Constitution thereby effectively destroying our Constitutional Republic Representative form of government. They're moving us towards Marxist-Socialism. A tyrannical form of government that has proven to be an unmitigated disaster in countries like Cuba and Venezuela.

Prove me wrong.

It’s tough to paint an entire nation but considering the decline of orthodox, historic Christianity and the support for sexual deviancy, abortion, and the hatred that exists for those who aren’t part of their political or ideological team among other things, if I had to go one way or the other I would say that this is an evil nation.

For a dozen years, I was a pawn of the state. Trump brought back the ability to be proud of our country, and at least tried to fix our piece of shite government. We are not the "good guys", no matter what you've been told. We could be though...we easily could be. It would take a top to bottom dismantling of our government, rebuilt by men and women who embrace the constitution and bill of rights. Men and women who put the country and its citizens above personal gain. Men and women willing to call a spade a spade and who are not willing to compromise their ideals, no matter what.

At this point, war appears to be the only option that could possibly save the republic. I'm not talking about war with the ME, russia, or china.
